How did I do?

So yesterday I was running a couple errands and still had my bike rack on the car when I went by a yard sale that was wrapping up. I saw this and decided to stop to see what it was.......5 BUCKS! I didn't bother to dicker and that's about the fastest I've peeled off a five.

you got a SMOKIN' deal. The satisfaction of this bargain should last you several months! Then you'll be back in the thrift stores and searching yard sales for you're next score... we're just like drug addicts aren't we?

$5 bucks for what looks like a 1984 Trek 500? I would say you did very well. As someone else already posted, you could have bougth the 12" spicy italian from Subway for that.

Oh, man, I bet you could have gotten it for $4.50!

No, really, great find.

Hell, I'd have paid $5 just for the Avocet saddle. VERY nice.

Nice find.
I found two $5 garage sale bikes this year.
A Peogeot PH 12 and a Nishiki Olympic.
Ain't it fun?

Bikes: Nishiki Nut! International, Pro, Olympic 12, Sport mixte, and others too numerous to mention.

Heck, the bottle cage alone is worth $5. Nice score!

i think the real fun would be if you could get it AND five dollars... "gee, let's see, it's a nice enough bike and all, but the tires flat. and it'll need new tape. surely you don't want it taking up space in your garage... i'll tell you what, you give me five bucks and i'll stick it on this here bike rack of mine and i'll take care of it for you..."

Yep, it bummed out. I'll have to put money into it right away.

I like the way your thinking. I should have been paid to haul it away since I have to spend money to be able to ride it.

Actually, the guy was about 70 and never rode it and it was given to him. He felt like he should get something and I didn't argue.
