Looking for the tools to dismantle my bottom bracket?
its an old 83 schwinn traveler-
the bb looks like this from the outside:

if anyone could give me links, or pics of what tools I need that would really help-
its creaking and I think I need to re-grease it or something

No pictures, but you probably have the tools you need. The outer lockring can be removed with channellock pliers, the bearing cup can be removed with an adjustable wrench (just be careful not to let anything slip). I have serviced many of these bottom brackets using this method. The cup on the right (drive) side is left hand thread, so you turn it clockwise to loosen. The drive side may be very tight and hard to remove, but if you can't remove it, just take everything out thru the other side, and reach thru the BB shell with a rag and some degreaser and clean it that way. You will probably want to replace the bearings ( last set I got at the LBS was only $4.00 for both bearings). Grease the new bearings, reinstall the bearings and spindle (the drive side should be a little longer from the bearing surface to the end of the spindle-just keep it oriented the same direction it was during removal). Adjust the left cup to remove all but a very slight amount of play, hold the cup in place, and tighten the lockring. It may take a few tries to get the adjustment right (you want as close as possible to no play in the bearings without preloading them, making them feel rough and hard to turn). It is easier to do than it is to describe, you shouldn't have any problems.

+1 on the above. I've done several of these in the past year and haven't purchased any of the specialized tools for them. Some bike work pretty much requires specialized bike tools (such as crank puller, cone wrenches, freewheel/cassette tools, etc.), others can easily be managed with stuff most of us have in our regular toolboxes it just requires a little caution.

It's easy enough to use a channel lock pliers and big crescent wrench to get your BB out, but when you'll put it back together, it's really helpful to use a lock-ring tool, so that you can hold the cone with the wrench while you tighten the lockring. That's hard to do with non-specialized tools.

but would you guys say to get the crank arms off I should purchase the special tool used to get them off?
I know you can undo the bolt with a socket, but that doesnt help to "push" them off.
and should I just purchase the grease I need at a local bike store?
or can I get that at a hardware store?

Use a crank puller to remove the cranks from the spindle - any bike shop should have one and they aren't expensive. Anything else risks carving up the finish on the cranks. Your photo shows you've already removed the cranks though, so that's where the confusion may have arisen?
