My fenders just arrived and there is a dent in the front fender. It sits about halfway up the fender, in front of the pre-drilled hole where the fender connects to the fork crown. I think the dent is there for mounting reasons. I believe there are two ways to mount the fender, by using an L-bracket or by using a fork crown daruma that is provided with the fenders. When I mount the fender using the fork crown daruma, the dent sits directly in front of the fork crown, starring at me. If my bike had centerpull brakes the dent would be hidden but it has wide profile cantilevers, it is very exposed. If I mount using an L-bracket, the dent is hidden under the fork crown. Has anyone else had this problem?

I think the dent is to sit under the fork crown. Not sure what the two mounting methods are, is it possible to reverse the mount so that the dent can go under the fork crown?

I just got these fenders as well. I didn't notice the "indentation" as being out of place but I will check again tonight and report back for you.
Are you using the crown fork daruma to mount the fender? If so, how are you placing the rubber bushing? I have it between the top of the fender and the fork and the large flat washer undernearth the fender, behind one of the leather washers. Seems like the best way to absorb vibrations, prevent rattling. Is this correct?

If you don't have a traditional flat bottom crown, the indentation may be more visible than intended. I have these fenders mounted to a traditional fork made for mounting fenders and the indentation is not noticeable. However, the stem should obscure it in any event unless you just can't stop looking for it.

im a bit curious about this as well, i bought the 43mm extra long hammered fenders from Velo-orange some time ago and for the fork crown where the indentation was the hole that was pre-drilled didnt match with the one under 'under' the fork crown, so that when using that hole you can see maybe 3/8 of an inch sticking forward of the fork crown. I thought it was a bit silly that I would have to drill a second hole for it to line up correctly, but I assumed it was because of the variance between different bikes.
