Is there a reason you couldn't drill and tap a hole for a more typical b-tension screw? I don't know how the RD swings and what's in the way on the other size, but from here there looks like room.

there is a bibox full of those on some tool bench in LA right beside a box of Cobalto stones. LOL
Robbie it might be as expensive as a new RD but perhaps a local gunsmith or small metal worker.

Drilling and tapping is not feasible, as the protrusion needs to go away from the RD body, inward, kind of "out of" that hole. I have thought about making a metal piece from another old Campy RD, groove it the best I can on one side, so it sticks out like it needs to to hit the lip on the hangar. Then, use etching stuff I got from soonerbills and try and epoxy the piece in the hole.
BG hit it right on the head, pre-Ergo Athena. I have the red Cinelli running '89 Chorus 2x7 Syncro 2, and without a lot of fiddling with the RD cable adjuster, it skips the 2nd cog almost every time. The reason is the shifter insert is compatible with the Athena, not the Chorus RD. I bought a nice Athena to solve that problem, and of course, it's missing that piece. The owner doesn't mind, is using it in friction mode, but I'm sure he'd like it to work as intended in Syncro. .... My own Syncro group is Syncro 1, but I have the same insert, so I'll need the same RD...which I have, identical to the Athena I bought for the Cinelli, right down to the missing piece....

Have:
Excellent condition Mavic 501 Hubset laced to black Mavic Open Pros: 32h 126mm (though i've read with spacers you can get it to 130)
Looking for:
Silver Campy 32h hubs 10 speed--Centaur, Veloce, Daytona etc...let me know what you have
May be interested in other things as well for the hubset.

I'm building a Cannondale Black Lightning and all I have is the frame. Does anyone have the following items?
ISO: Black stem. 90-110mm, 26.0 clamp.
Black seat post 27.2 dia. single bolt clamp.
Black Suntour Sprint front and rear derailleurs. Doesn't have to be Sprint or even Suntour. Just something nice that's anodized black.
Got lots of trade items and **Forbidden**
What do you need?

Riding like its 1990
ISO:
3 speed or single speed 32 hole rear hub with coaster brake. Or even 36 hole.
36 hole clincher rim in 26" or even 700c
Even better is a beach cruiser style rear wheel 26" with coaster brake and a narrow rim.
Have: various items, what are you looking for?

dphi, I have some interest in the Suntour GT RD as a future restoration part for my Grand Jubilé, which is currently running a short cage Cyclone to go with the relatively narrow gear range that I ride. I don't have too much to offer, my items are listed in a few different posts on pages 107-111 in this thread.

Good luck finding that black Sprint stuff, Shin. I sold an 89 BL (see below) a few months ago that- thank goodness- had components in pretty good condition. Hardest part was finding a decent black stem. Finally wound up using a black Modolo (not my favorite stem).
If I was going to build one up today from a bare frame, I'd just go for modern black Shimano 105/Ultegra stuff (hubs, FD, RD) with a set of ano rims and black Tektro brakes and levers. Dark ano DT Shimano 600 shift levers are out there, too. Niagara sells a Kalloy stem in black for either 25.4 or 26 sized bars- a 27.2 black seatpost as well and they are both inexpensive. Wouldn't be original but it would be a sweet ride.
Full disclosure: I have a modern Ultegra FD/RD on the Yellow Submarine (see below) & use a 6/7/8 speed Shimano chain and 7 speed 600 series shifters with a 7 speed FW and it shifts very, very, very well.

Trying to complete a mid 80s french build that had all original mavic SSC components:
looking for:
mavic SSC derailleurs and downtube shifter levers (front and back).
mavic SSC stem and seat post
mavic SSC headset
and if someone is local (SoCAL) mavic SSC rims/hubs to complete.
Have (all currently on the bike, but wanted to switch out):
shimano 600 tri color downtube sti shifters
nitto stem
generic seat post
Dura Ace 8 speed 7202 rear derailleur
a campy front derailleur - haven't identified the model yet
shimano 600 head set with a tange top tightening nut.
wheel set - front is newer mavic, back has suntour hub w/mavic rim.
