I need a vintage 1" chrome fork for my 80's Diamant--minimum of 210mm and no extreme rake--the dropouts and fork crown on the one that came with the frame were hopelessly buggered by some moron with a file.
Have lots of stuff and that, the name of which shall not be spoken....

Nope, it was a later forged stem. Ugly- and tends to stick in the steer tube- but not death prone.

Does anyone have an 8 or 9 speed Dura Ace group sitting around, or perhaps an 8/9 speed Record or Chorus group? I know, not likely, but I've got to build up this
frame before the weather turns nice!
Thanks!

I'll politely disagree. i had one, nice big cracks formed in it. The way the bolt pinches makes for a scary weak spot.

How much work are you willing to do?
Any special preferences?
Those three brands are well-known enough to be sought-after and therefore more expensive. Will you accept a Centurion, Univega, Sekine, Raleigh...?

What size are you looking for? I'm around 5'7ish, so around +51cm
How much work are you willing to do? Depends on the condition of the bike, but I'm planning to take it at my local bike shop near home to learn more on dealing with its components
Any special preferences? Black, white or red

Need:
Side-pull, shortish reach (500 - 550mm), pull on right side, non-recessed brake calipers.
Q/R skewers - could use a set - for 100 spacing in front, and 120 or 126 in the rear. make not important. Hoping for function and something a little better than "ratty looking".
Have:
Short reach Weinmann 405 brakes (recessed bolt, side pull, right side) calipers
Long reach Weinmann 735 brakes (non-recessed, side-pull, right side) calipers
Short-ish reach, Universal 68's (non-recessed, side pull, left side) calipers
New threadless, 1" Stronglight needle bearing headset
Used 36 hole Mavic MA-4 tubular rims
Sunshine Gyromaster hubs
NOS solid axle Sturmey Archer hubs - low flange 40/32 hole
some other odds and ends
PM me if you have brakes, but don't see something you'd like in trade posted. I do have some other things and am taking a guess at what might be appealing.

Need:
...
* Pair (front and rear) mid-80's DiaCompe sidepull brakes. Don't know the model number, but they showed up on almost every brand sold between 85 and 89. They have a slightly longer reach than a 39-49 Shimano of the period (maybe 55) and are nutted. Don't worry about brake shoes- those I've got- but otherwise must be complete.
Have: Stuff. Lots of stuff.

Want: Campy ergo bits. Condition unimportant.
Last edited by stausty; 01-23-10 at 12:11 AM. Reason: Apparently the brake calipers I have do reach. 3 weeks from a Ph.D. and I didn't figure to loosen the nut a bit more.

Sorry, Old's Cool- don't have the canti's you're looking for.
But I did find a set of NOS DiaCompe sidepulls.
They came with brandy new levers and turkeys that I won't be using, so if anyone's interested...
