Yeah, I thought the descent pics came out really cool, too. Will: great pics and great ride - thanks for coming along and good on you for hanging in there all the way to the top

Had a great ride today with kvltbryce in the foothills outside Tucson - and I got to visit the race shop he works at, too. Got some great photos, but I've been busy with last-minute stuff I need to take care of before flying out Sunday. I'll upload my pics tomorrow, toss a few up here and on the Southern AZ C&V Ride thread as well and all will be good.

Thanks, Bryce, for the great company on the ride today - and the tour of the facility, too!

Nothing like the AZ rides. 90 minutes or so today - 28 degrees and I forgot the balaclava. It was brutal until the ears and forehead went numb. No pics but I have to say this was my first fender experience on wet roads and it was awesome. Found myself turning into a little kid and heading for the puddles because ... I could.

Today? Nowhere. We've had a reprieve from the 0F weather, and it is above freezing (mid 30's) for the first time in 6 weeks, but it is gray and rainy. Good day to stay inside.

[QUOTE=rootboy;15184889]I could only manage about 15 miles on the Cape Cod Rail Trail yesterday. Brrrrr. But at least it wasn't wet, and I nearly had the whole place to myself.
Cranberry bog behind goes nicely with the bar tape, eh?

As a former cranberry grower..I approve!

Got out for a wonderful ride around the rolling wine country of Pope Valley, Napa County, and out to fog-soaked Barryessa Lake. Had to ride for about 15 miles before the first car passed me.

Ooh, I remember rides like that (I always ended up with a headache). And I envy you your fenders - I used to drive myself nuts trying to avoid the puddles

However, I can definitely see the desire to roll through them with fenders; after all, I used to stomp puddles all the way home from school in my boots. The correct gear always opens doors, doesn't it?

Final stage of the TDU today and took a bike out for the first time in 4 months "approx?" since my op. But I did drive to the circuit using my Hurricane to traverse for photos, what a fantastic week of racing.

Andre Grieiple won the final stage. Dutch rider Tom Slagter just edged out Geraint Thomas to win the tour.

35 salty, snowy, cold miles today on my Kelly. High 28 degrees, sunny, a little windy.
cell phone pics

got some dirt in; only about 3 miles

rusty farm implement

Shorter was better with the conditions about the same as a week ago. I felt much better coming home, not dragging tail.

Went disc golfing today, MTB style. We rode a newly finished trail to the course and then from hole to hole. Pretty awesome bike ride.

Finished up my Dawes Super Galaxy project yesterday, and went to test it on the Lake Pinehurst route. Rode around the lake a couple times coming out to around 15 miles. The route is very hilly, and I got the bike up to around 45mph on the longest downhill. Good times!

Thanks for sharing the TDU photos, jbchybridrider. That's really cool. Cobrabytes ride today sure looked like fun.

Me? I rode MTB for about 4 cold, rainy hours in the woods today. Nachos n beer afterwards. Not a bad day..

I rode my first century on the new '92 Paramount, and my first century at all since March. 50 miles out into a stiff headwind, and the return with a tailwind. Nice. Once in the saddle I don't like to stop, and am a feeb with a camera anyway, so no pics. Leaving the city I was passed by a convoy of classic cars. The lookers were a '56 Ford two-tone convertible, a '70 charger(my dream car as a high school senior) and the queen of them all, a cherry red '68 Chevelle SS. I wondered if it was equipped with Holley carbs, Edelbrock manifolds, racing cams, and Hurst linkage. Probably not.
Wildlife wise, I had a near collision with a roadside hawk, which darted into my path from the roadside of all places. An osprey and a grey fox round out the highlights.
A beautiful, windy day.

Some great photos posted this weekend! Love those TDU shots from down under.

I couldn't do my 49 at 49 ride today due to rain. Somewhat rare to have 4 consecutive days of rain here in PHX, but we do need the water.
But the ride reports are a nice compensation, just so cool to read and see the contrasting conditions we ride in.

Seedsbelize: So how did the new Paramount compare to your other rides you've used to complete centuries past?

53 miles today on the De Rosa, mostly in Scituate and Glocester. Temp around 30, partially sunny.

farm in Glocester

Scituate Reservoir

This was my first ride on the De Rosa since I installed a pair of Vittoria Corsa evo cx. The roads were really sandy, but I couldn't wait to try the new tires. They ride velvety and weigh nothing. I hope I get some decent miles out of them. I decided no dirt roads for the De Rosa this year.

25 hard miles at the end of the day today - felt good. 47 degrees, sun and no wind which also meant no ice and snow. Passed another rider about half way through and after ending my loop and back at my driveway he passed again and stopped. I recognized vintage steel has he went by - black 80's Shogun with 9 spd carbon Campy ergo set up. Very nice bike. Turns out we had met a few years ago when we were both participating in a 24 hr mtb race. He was one of the crazy riders doing it solo.

Every time I get on that bike, I'm amazed at how nice it rides. On my old ride I would have been struggling in that wind, and with the Paramount I feel like I sliced through it. That's the main thing, in wind. Otherwise it's much lighter, quicker to accelerate, comfortable on imperfect surfaces. An all around lovely ride. More comfortable even that my hybrid, which has 32mm tires. The Paramount sports 25mm.

Finally I got to ride the GLM
Had to chuck the bike into the trunk of the car and drive off to a nearby stretch of road that was icefree and relativly car free too. A few times back and forth along a fjord made for about 5-6 km's perhaps. Temperature was just below freezing but managed to get an ever so little sweat...

All these beautiful country pictures! Enough already!

Where are all of the urban riders? The city dwellers? I know there out there. Don't we take pictures of our rides?

I know I shouldn't talk, because I'm a guilty urban rider that doesn't take pictures...
