^^^OMG^^^ Everything in that picture is OMG. Beautiful bike, beautiful color, looks warm.
Went out for the first time this year and the first ride in 3 months. 15 cold damp miles in Chicago. 35 degrees - Its a heat wave. 10" of snow on its way tonite!!!!!
I think I'll just stare at your picture and dream for a while Otis.

Took the newly restored Fuji Tivoli for it's first real ride yesterday, 42 miles in the Minnesota winter:
Took the '09 CAAD9 out along the same, but a little shorter route this afternoon, 30 miles.
Nice 72 miles in the winter...I love the looks from drivers

I finally was able to take the Schwinn Suburban for a coffee ride this morning.
it had rained the night before so the sky was filled with dark clouds overhead, Road was covered in water/ But it was to nice of a morning to not go through the puddles as the water helped with the spray from the road.
sometimes its so nice to ride in the rain...

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
Went into the valley for a bit... the hard pack is very nice to ride on and with the sand they lay down the traction was excellent...

I did something new the other night. Well, Sunday morning, really.
3:00 AM, I found I couldn't sleep, and my tossing-and-turning seemed to be keeping my wife up as well. Outside there was a glorious full moon shining down on fresh snow, that fell on Friday, but clear roads. So I went for a ride. My Trek 720 has an excellent headlight (E3 supernova). So I rode about 20 miles, the hilliest I have in the immediate neighborhood. I saw a total of 6 deer and two cars and... well, I have to tell this part carefully:
I was coming down a long gradual hill on an unfamiliar road. I've done this road many times going the other direction, but never in this direction and never at night, so I didn't know exactly what conditions I was going to encounter. At this point the road was gently curving to the right, so my headlight beam was shining on a long diagonal across the road, not quite illuminating the area where I was about to ride. This called for extreme vigilance because in these conditions there can be black ice where daily snowmelt runs across the road and freezes at night; so I was not going terribly fast, only fast enough to make it fun. Suddenly I noticed, just to the right of the beam and not ten feet in front of me, a small furry animal galuphing (is that the right term?) along as fast as it could, which wasn't fast enough. My first thought was "SKUNK!" and in a near panic I wasn't sure what to do, as it seemed a bad idea to either swerve or to hit the brakes or to run over the critter. As I passed less than a foot to its left it looked up at me with a crazed expression and I realized it was only a raccoon. I was laughing out loud --nervously to be sure-- for the next mile or so.
By the time I got home, my toes were nearly frozen. It was a total blast of a ride, and I'm going to do it again at the next full moon... but with wool socks!

Did the ride in 2:29 not counting lights in and out of Woodbury and a 3 minutes rest stop at the half waypoint for #1, water, and Gu. Average of 18.2mph isn't too awfully bad in the winter.
One of these days I'll remember to get out of town on the roads without lights...duh.

It seems like yesterday was the first sunny weekend day since forever. I took advantage of it, and rolled out a nice 50 miler with Bikingshearer and a few NorCal BF folks. We hung on for about 10 miles before they ditched us for good, and then we relaxed and had a good time.
We've been getting a lot of rain since early November, and the grass has been green and getting greener since early December. They'll stay that way till April/May, so we'll have a good 5-6 months of dazzling emerald green before the die-off.
It's beautiful.
A tad over 51 miles, and ~3,000' of climbing. I love the Pogliaghi more and more with each ride.
Here are a few pics. What a great day it was to stop and smell the roses, and that DVD I found is a gift that keeps on giving.

As always BBM, great pics--I mean we could maybe do without the best side shots of the Big Unit, but those beautiful emerald hills do remind me of some of my best years living in Marin County. Thanks for sharing.

After a Saturday night of drinking, me and a friend decided to start off Sunday with one of our favorite local loops..
The weather was stunning, hardly a breeze, the GIOS performed magnificently and we both punished ourselves a bit for the good times last night.
I decided to take the old camera along to snap some photos of the scenery to share with the guy who gave me the bicycle, I hope you guys appreciate them as much as I know he will.
First photo I took, about 6 miles into the ride and looking back in the general direction of Petaluma CA...

Nice scenery there, Dyermaker! I rode the Peugeot around the San Diego Bay yesterday, about 28 miles. it was a nice ride on a sunny day.

Finally got off my depressed butt, and took the 912 for a real ride:
From Vic to Sidney and back, approximately 40 km.
Took some gear with me to take pics:
(That's what I took with me: Lowepro Flipside 200, bike lock hung from top handle. Carried D70 with 50mm 1.8 lens.)

WOW great pics everyone. well I finally got my first ride of the season in. between being very tired from getting back from my trip early this morning and my souvenir cold I almost stayed home. however the weather here in So Jersey was fabulous! sunny in the mid 70s so off I went on my Equinox. the new Panaracer Pasela tires are fabulous. the x28 size pumped to 105psi both rolled smoothly but seemed to absord mild bumbs easily.
unfortunatly I had no camera but I should have. I happen to spot a Great Blue Heron and I turned back to watch him. at first I thought he startled and alighted to a nearby tree, however there were two! then the first one took flight and I suddenly realized there were 5 Herons (all great blues I beleive) in the same 1/2 acre or so area. further down the road the big draft horses were out in the paddock. I don't know much about horses but these animals are beautiful! finally pasing one of the local airports (general avaition cessna 172s and piper cubs) there were 5 or 6 of these olde Soviet WW2 era planes. some with fancy paint and other really stark almost Soviet looking. tomorrow I'll have my camera and I won't see anything LOL

The NH mountains had temps in the low 60s and abundant sunshine. Shorts and T-shirt riding weather! Even though the lakes are still covered with ice and roads still rough with frost heaves, the riding was perfect.
Yesterday I took the first shakedown ride on the '39 Schwinn New World. Today the 2001 Cannondale CAAD 4 felt like a pocket rocket!

My son and I went on our first spring ride of 2010 this morning – a brisk jaunt around the peninsula and surrounding neighborhoods. It was 45°, breezy, and overcast, a distinct contrast to the high 60's and low 70's we enjoyed just two days ago. Nevertheless, it was a good little ride to start our season.
