We took our tandem out today, 38.5 miles, Concord, Carlisle, Billerica, Tewksbury, and back. All new territory for us. The old Peugeot ran like a charm. (Okay, it's not that old, it's an '82.) It was a good day!

37 miles today. A beautiful sunny day, high 65 degrees.
New road on the way out.
2 miles on an old dirt favorite on the way back.
Nice pictures Northblend.

Rode about 17 miles today, but just around town and I mostly stuck to trails. With my Achilles tendon trouble I've been leery of getting myself too far from town so that I'm forced to ride back in pain. However, today I experienced no pain at all, and I discovered a trail that could be very useful in allowing me to reach a certain park without riding on a busy road. Pictures are nothing special, but here they are anyway.
First, an old railroad trestle I stumbled upon.
A pleasant pond
This wasn't as picturesque as the photo might lead you to believe.

In And Around The Neighborhood
We moved to Olympia just recently. Took the kids around the neighborhood, South Capitol. Crossed Capitol and followed it down to the Capitol complex. Tooled around there for a bit.

I rode 48 miles yesterday, a beautiful sunny day high in the low 70s. Again in Coventry and West Greenwich RI.
Fry Pond

My homey and his whip. It runs sometimes (not yesterday).
We went to a Pawsox game later.

Woke up too late to beat the rising temps this morning, so I put in a quick 10 miles on the Apache Trail to Lost Dutchman State Park, then stopped by Goldfield Ghost Town for a few photos.

it would be so nice to see maps of your rides, especially those in my area. i got that mapmyride app, but the gps on the phone sucks so much battery life, i never use it for extended periods. got lost the other day on the east side, past mercer island, so the gps does come in rather handy to find my route again. but i immediately power off the gps after i've found myself. if only there was a feature that would do this finding for me on a philosophical level, i could sell all my books...

I've posted pics from this route before, but I tried to capture some different spots. Plus, everything looks nicer now that all the leaves are back.
I've posted a picture from this same spot, but not with all the greenery.

That's a interesting ride WNG. I'd love to ride in the desert SW sometime.
I rode up Hurricane Ridge a couple of times yesterday. The weather was beautiful.
To do this proper, you have to start at sea levelThe first ascent in the morning was peaceful with very few cars on the road. I passed this guy along the way. There's some good corn snow on top for spring skiing. My heart always skips a beat going thru tunnels on a bike. I stand and sprint hard to clear them before any cars happen to come along. There are three in succession at this part of the road..19 miles and 5200' higher this is the view you get from the topI descend and order lunch at Jack in the Box in Port Angeles. Afterwards it's back up the hill for the second time of the day. It's busier now with more car traffic and it's now getting warm. A few miles from the top my feet start developing hot spots and make a point to document my dominant thoughts when I reached the top.I nap like a lizard in the sun on the back patio of the lodge for a few minutes before heading back down. With no cars ahead or behind and already knowing the descent I was able to really let it go. A perfect end to a great day of cycling

Well, yeah, we did ride today. Did the 50-mile option of the Narragansett Bay Wheelmen's Westport ride on the '82 tandem today. It had been suggested by BF member berner, and it was a spot-on suggestion! Mostly flat or gently rolling, some long big-ring stretches (which Sharon loves), great views of farmland and beaches, and one wicked killer(!!!) hill near the end. Glad we had some deep gears. Even so, we stopped for a breather partway up.
At walk-your-bike section on Horseneck Beach:
A curious shop (shoppe?) just before lunch. Ah, you'll notice Sharon is not in the picture:
Finished with lunch with our riding partner BF member berner:
You know it's been a good day on the bike when you get out of the car at the end and start walking and wish you had a lower gear.

Rode a hilly 52 miles in Scituate and Foster Center today. Beautiful sunny 75 degree day. Only took this one picture.
I'm getting ready to climb Wachusett on Thursday for the first time; I'll make sure to post more pics from that ride.
