Spent most of the weekend filling the freezer, but did manage to get a 12 mile path ride in before dark.

I had a great time today Jim! A really fun route.

Like a dummy I forgot my camera today, but I did take a few mediocre phone pics.

There were a couple of spots where I should have stopped to take some shots, but we had such a nice rhythm going I didn't want to upset the flow. Old Calf Pasture in Concord looked promising. Next time right?

@ OTG Voluntown is a great place to ride. 49 and 201 are two of my favorite roads.

Rode to work and back today. Pitch black and no traffic at 6AM on my way in. Saw the sunrise over the lake as I approached work. 45degF, sunny, and a tailwind on the way home. It doesn't get better than that in mid-November!

Nice ride and nice pictures. My son rides with a club in Mystic. He took me on a ride a few weeks back through some roads I have never been on. I (we) are lucky to live in this area. There are still a lot of places within a few hours riding that I need to see. 49 and 201 are really great roads, I find myself on one or both every time I head out.

The Middle River in Worcester, Mass., on the way back from a quick ride around the neighborhood.

Just a quick ride up to and home from Messiah practice...not to BE a Messiah, but to do the Christmas portion of Handel's Messiah...About a 45 voice choir, will be performed with a string quartet and brass come the Advent Season.

I spent Saturday painting my C&V mtb winter project. Rushing to complete it to do more dirt/off roading.
Only put in 15 miles today on my Benotto. Yes, back on the road bike....exploring a new route to safely put in some miles around my neighborhood. Looks good!

I will put in more miles on Veteran's Day, but it'll be back in the low 90s!

fender1 11-11-13 04:14 PM

Got out for a quick 20+ today. Had to turn back after that due and injury to my left hand from a couple of days ago. I was striking a cold chisel with a 5lb sledge and my hand got in the way. OUCH!

Got out for a 57 mile birthday ride. Was shooting for 60, but without a bike computer I didn't know how far I'd really gone until I mapped it when I got back.

Decided to hit the beautiful Yakima River Canyon. No hurries during the day - just me and some alone time. Had a good time watching some desert bighorn sheep a couple of different times. Temps started in the low 40's F and were getting to 52 or so when I got back.

I really wasn't feeling as bad as I look - that came later as I ran out of gas:

Drove thought there by car. Very other-worldly if you're a flatlander.

spacemanz 11-12-13 09:49 PM

Definitely cool pics there. :) Sunday it was probably in the 40s here all day too, but it "might" have hit the low 50s. Either way, I hit the North Beach in Ballard again, and watched a couple young guys riding what looked like snowboards, but in the water with wetsuits, & they had oversized kite-looking things, to get some push from the wind. Did I mention, it was also really windy? ;) They weren't hang-gliders, but like a smaller version. It looked like they were probably jumping 20-30 feet up in the air, then landing in the water. :D

Happy Birthday scozim! Some really nice shots of the ride. What a great spot!

Great pics! Happy b'day too! I just have to get out that way for a ride some time in my next life.

FYI, when running without a computer always go 10% further than you think you need to! :D

Took a vacation day and rode the Cannon River Valley trail and the Hay Creek trail. About 66 miles total and some nice late fall scenery in the river bottoms. Mostly flat ride, but the last 20 were a bit of a hammerfest needing to be home at a certain time. Some photos including one of the Empire Builder (which interestingly probably climbed up the same valley as in Scozim's pictures). A bit of a base at Welch ski hill. The bar/campground was my halfway point.

CM, that looks like a great place to ride. Everybody's getting out for good late autumn rides. That's a good thing!

EBH 11-16-13 09:02 AM

Probably the last ride of the year (as I also wrote in my previous post...:))

Very nice trails for sure.

We rode down from St. Paul and did the Cannon River Trail in September.

Thought I was going to need a heart/lung transplant climbing back out of that valley on the way home.

FWIW Our family has season passes at Welch Village. Great family style ski area. Not as much partying as some others in the metro. Decent vertical as well.

Not as long as long a ride as I'd wanted (just beat a downpour). The offroad trails were wet already, so gave them a break and stuck to the paths today.

otg 11-16-13 02:39 PM

I got in about 40 or so miles on my recently finished Holdsworth. Southern New England was just about perfect today.

I'll see your elevated path and raise you one.

Elevated path? I really need to remember the camera, one of these days. We have a marsh land area, down by Magnuson Park, with a few little bridges like that. It looks like yours goes much further, but ours is still kinda fun. There are chest-high weeds around there, so visibility is somewhat important, to pay attention to. :D Today I rode the BG Trail over to Fremont, then cut across the Fremont Bridge, going East along the ships' canal, to and under the Ballard bridge, to where the trail goes through Myrtle Edwards Park. That's where they hold Hempfest every year, just North of the Pike Place Market a bit. It was probably down in the 40s Fahrenheit, early today, but it's not bad at all, if you dress for it. :) EDIT: I fixed it. Us Americans use Fahrenheit to talk about the weather, but Celsius to talk about 'puters, so we naturally like to mix them up a little, once in awhile. :D ;)

Around Lake Natoma on the Paramount. Distracted by rear wheel running out of true and gummy drive train making noise. The 37-year-old lube in the freewheel seems to want some attention, it goes zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz------zzzzzzzzzz---zzzzzzzzzzzzz as the pawls stick

JJScaliger 11-17-13 04:15 PM

I rode 39 miles today, mostly in Scituate RI. A warm, but gray November day; temp around 50. It rained this afternoon so I'm glad I got out this morning.

Dawes at North end of Scituate Reservoir.

Route 6, The Grand Army of the Republic Highway, is in the background. It goes all the way to the tip of Cape Cod, at Provincetown.

I was able to replace my pump, which was run over a couple of weeks ago, and I now have a matching campy record tubular front wheel.

Here are a couple of road shots from near the reservoir.
