Took the MIELE MTB dropbar bicycle with V-brakes out onto the rail-trails Saturday and did some winter camping. Just got back in about 1/2 hour ago. Got snowed on twice but the tent kept me dry and my sleeping bag was warm. Very nice experience.

Well, I don't have lots of fancy pics to post. Just one. But it is my first non-commute, sew-up equipped bike ride this year. It was nice to ride zippy wheels. The Peugeot PF10 spoke to me.

Congrats to above ^^^.
No air time or wheelies for me. Decided 1200 ft of climbing suited my limited time and lack of miles. Therefore, 3 laps from house to bottom ( or near the bottom ) of the hill. All paved. One on Botte (SP), two on the better climbing Falcon (531c). https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...1792b4a0e.jpeg ^^^ = kinda mossy around here https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...cff724529.jpeg ^^^ Fast & Racy Falcon https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...d1abeb036.jpeg |

2 days in a row
Finally got a proper 20m shakedown ride on the Tommasini. Time to wrap the bars. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...cd29207970.jpg |

another beautiful day, I'm gonna be so sad when the rain returns https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...3f5cfbdd30.jpg |
Still short in time.
Up and down the hill for strength. As I skipped ski season this winter. Driveway metalica (not mine). Call it art. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...802e577c8.jpeg 48/34 chainrings and a 26 out back got me up. Bit of a grind on a couple of short steeper ramps. |
First ride in a very long time, overweight and under exercised. :( Found myself on a "bicycles prohibited" trail in the Olympic National Park (which is my next door neighbor) But there was no sign indicating that where I entered; only where I left. Caught a nice dapple of sunlight over a little creek, though.
Only 12 miles, but I barely made it home. There was some climbing involved. And some stairs (?!) https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...9f651fd8_h.jpg |

Who says a project bike that is rideable, but in a less than final configuration = Can’t Still Be Fun? for short rides.
Up to a neighbor’s vineyard https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...93513b603.jpeg Not a vineyard in Frejus home country. 🇹🇯 https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...900369862.jpeg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...def1b0772.jpeg The project hinges on an answer to the question— Does a tall but short TT bike make for a good upright city bike? The trial bars/stem/saddle/wheelset for the evaluation are presently on another project bike awaiting spousal input (so I’m not holding my breath) |
Took to the trails at a local recreational park. Still rather wintry here but today was an exceptionally nice day.

Went for a roundabout ride to meet a buddy at a coffee shop. The roads were mostly bare of snow and ice as was the limestone trail I road some distance on. However due to t he above freezing temperature today, that limestone trail was very sof in a lot of places and I'm really glad my 26" wheels had the 2.125" knobby tires on it.

DD There's a conservation area not too far out of town and the lake there has similar signs. No boating at all and no swimming. It's a protected area and they do stock the lake with fish and it's quite a popular spot for fishing during fishing season. It's a wildlife sanctuary. Cheers |
Yesterday's adventure on this bike.
https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...82602ec86.jpeg This route. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31770659 I did walk a couple of times and glad I had the bike for support. My Wahoo auto paused on some of the climbs. I need to get in shape. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...c017523963.png |
eom having lived and rode in Memphis a few years, I know those Mississippi River bluffs can be real stingers. Hopefully you had light winds, those flat stretches can also be soul suckers in a headwind. I called the ever present prevailing south-westerlies West Tennessee hills.

First ride since my knee injury - and of course I rode down to the river. The ice is breaking up, the first sign I've seen that Spring is nigh.

Beautiful late winter day in the Boston area. I opted for fat tires. Encountered some mud.

First outdoor ride in 2020 after about 800km of trainer riding since Christmas. Forgot how busy the paths can be and how much the wind can blow. Otherwise really nice.

Made use of the wind direction yesterday after the 4th storm here in 2 weeks time and rode along the coast yesterday with a friend.
75km (46 miles) of tailwind fun through the dunes, mostly on paved cycling paths. Average speed was a leisurely 21km/h (13mph) and a top speed at some parts of 52km/h (33mph). http://i.imgur.com/ylVO2vZ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6FuWoDc.jpg http://i.imgur.com/n6j1KJa.jpg http://i.imgur.com/KXyO7xO.jpg http://i.imgur.com/nerWp8W.png |

34 miles today in Somis hills, eastern Ventura County. 1700 ft. climbing, 14.4 mph average on the '73 Super Course. The Raleigh will be my Eroica bike if I do one of the hilly rides. The 32/34 F/R best gear got me over parts of Balcom, Grimes and Horse Hill. Pictures are from Horse Hill summit. Tough little hill. I ride this course a lot on modern bikes, but got 3 Strava PRs today on the old Raleigh. Good times, beautiful day to ride.
