Got a Scott MTB frameset today. Needs some work, but it's all there. Looks identical to this:

Bikes: 1968 R.E.W. Reynolds Touring 1981 Eisentraut Model A 1983 Specialized Expedition 1985 Merckx Professional 1986 Tommasini Racing 1986 Merckx Team Panasonic Corsa Extra 1989 Basso Ascot 1989 Sancineto Max Jim RedCay

Found this mystery trek in the trash Fri. After researching components-
reynolds 531
tange levin headset
dia compe g sidepull brakes and levers
suntour cyclone mk II fd/rd
weinmann rims laced to maillard helicomatic hubds (27 x 1 1/4)
Sugino AT crank-triple chainring)
I think I've narrowed it to a 1983 620. Any information on this bike, quality, etc. Bike is in Great shape, except the rear wheel, which has two broken spokes (as well as the hub). Currently looking for a rear wheel- 27 x 1 1/4 alloy, 16mm-22mm) PM if anyone has an extra rear wheel they would sell.

What did you get it for peanuts.... or was it the opposite? Anyway, nice catch I really like this era of Treks and that one has some nice components.

Trek 560

Last year my friends were going around on move out day from college, and they found a vintage all original trek 560. Everything on it is in perfect condition. He just left it in my house when he moved out. I am not a biker, it had no air in the tires, so i just shoved it in the closet and figured i would buy the pump i needed sometime later and it could be a nice commuter bike or something. I forgot about it untill today, and i got curious about it, so i googled the model and much to my surprise they are still quite valuable. Turns out that was one of the luckiest breaks i have ever gotten! thank goodness i am a pack rat! Oh and if anyone is interested in it i am gonna post it in the classified forums for pretty cheap. I figure someone on here would give it a much better home than i ever would.

Picked up a nice 1987 Specialized Sirrus, 23 inch frame. Will get the usual rehab service and move on.

Hard to find road bikes around here.

Yeah I emailed him about the second it came up. Bought a set of Krietler rollers from him too. Original 1 owner bike, he was stand up and sold for what he asked, even though he got 50 emails after me. I almost feel bad selling now...

I snagged a 1970 Raleigh Sports on ebay today. 51 dollars and local pick up, I will post pictures when I get it. It looks like one of the plainer sports that I have seen with decals that had a short run. I have a nice sprung lepper saddle waiting for it.

I hope so, it's hard to tell with those pictures. It looks decent I think.... I've had a bunch of Raleigh built 3 speeds but this is my first one branded Raleigh.

In canada we don't have these bikes so I bought this one off a swell lad on another forum I use. Of course shippings deadly but my collecting habit is bad lol. Even came with the schwinn seat bag. it's got that weird gear system on it where it can change gears without you peddling.

Bikes: 1988 Schwinn Circuit. Bike-Boom-Puegeot. First "real bike" Trek 720 Hybrid in gross disrepair.

So instead of finding Schwinn Varsities and Continentals for sale everywhere you find U08s and entry level Raleighs?

I remember hearing about the Canadian government being protectionist about bicycle imports but do not know the history specifically.

CCMs are the big thing in Canada (Canada Cycle & Motor Co. Ltd). For all practical purposes, Canada's Schwinns and Huffys; here is a cool one:

mkeller,
Thanks for the offer. I sent you a pm regarding the wheels. I am in New York, zip 11050. Please let me know what you have, and price and shipping please.
Thanks again. Also is the trek 620 a decent bike? I looked at the trek brochures, and it seem slike the 620 was decent. Any info is greatly appreciated.

More than decent What year 620 do you have? Those bikes were touring beasts, full 531, and some of them have a couple of water bottle cage mounts on the DT (one on each side), plus front rack bosses. Great long distance bike

I finally figured out how to post larger photos... thought I'd start with this nice mid 80's Lemond I picked up at a yard sale.

It's a 1983, full 531 like you said. I will post pics as soon as I finish cleaning and find a rear wheel. She is starting to look pretty, though.
