Picked up this '94 Performance M-304 yesterday. Shimano STX-SE group, Tange fork. Owner claims he never rode it...it's very, very clean...depending on how it rides, it may be my mountain bike keeper...:)

I finally found my old school bmx cruiser that filled my dreams as a teenager.
Early pre serial number CW Racing took a couple of days to verify what it was. Just need the gold araya's and tuff neck now and a set of v-bars!

I have two of those pumps, and they're both still going strong after nearly 30 years! They used to sell replacement leather "washers" for the plunger. Just keep those flexible and the pump will last forever.

that Meidai is a great pump. at one shop I used to work in we bought them by the case in the early spring (6 in a case) but I bet we sold 20 plus a season and they were not cheap atleast $30 IIRC. most of the guys there had atleast one but I did not get one (I am a Silca girl) until a few years ago when I saw it dust coverd in a small shop. he thought I was nuts paying $20 for it. great pump esp if you have both presta and that car tyre valve thingie

OH I was just looking over the pics again you really got lucky you seem to have the presta adapter. not all adapters work so well with this pump. also I do not know when they stopped making/selling them but we sold them until atleast '95ish

Aint nothing wrong with aluminum, whaddya get? I have an aluminum framed bike for commuting, a super cheap GT force.. other than its visual un-favorables (the triple triangle and the ugly looking tig welds) it rides just as nice as any steel bike ive had, not to mention better than some too.

not a catch for me b/c i'm away for the holidays... but a rare catch for someone! it's a merry christmas to whoever grabs this one.

I don't know what happened. My winter project was going to be an old '70s era Schwinn 10-speed to flip or ride, but somehow I kept riding; got hooked on cold and nasty weather and today spent the day in the car (in a snow storm) to get a bigger framed MTB for the burly studs that are on their way to me. my current red MTB was found abandoned but was a little too small. Today I got the same brand but much newer and bigger. the guy wanted $70 but I gave him $30. one pic is the old red beater GT All Tera and the other is what I got today the grey GT Talera.

OMG! That would be the coolest find.

It could have more to do with the seller's relationship with dad...or, even better, the going price for a couple days of crack...ya never know.....

Not fair to say these were saved from the dump, but they were definitely saved from a life of sitting in someone's storage, hanging on the wall of a coffee shop or being flipped around by collectors until their price reached...well, reached what seems to be the real "market" price or whatever....anyway, with minimal tire sidewall cracking, some worn stickers, a little fender support rub and a bit of grime here & there...but otherwise, working brakes, perfect feeling headsets, wheel bearings & bottom brackets, perfect seats, rust-free rims, air-holding tubes, working SA hubs & shifters and really excellent chrome, I just adopted this his/hers pair....

Well, I picked up a Schwinn 434 today. Good flippable price. This bike has the hard to find quill seat post. I just have to decide whether to strip it (I need the seat post to resurrect a Trek 1400 with a broken off seat post frame clamp), or just rehab the bike itself. Paint is a little chipped up, should be easy to touch up.

And in other news, I returned from a ride this morning to find a bike propped up against the house. My wife's boss dropped off his fiance's old Schwinn World, circa 1987.

Mismatched chrome fork-quick peek, and yes, the paint behind the top tube and down tube lugs is cracked.
It came with an non-OEM Blaze triple in good condition, so that will find a new home.
Kept what else was reusable; the frame will get recycled.

This was a save from sometime this spring, but I just got around to putting it back together. All I need is bar tape once I've had a chance to ride it enough to make sure I'm happy with the bars & levers where they are. This one was a basket case, but all I needed new were tires, tubes, cables and a chain.

btw, anyone know if the inverted headset on this bike would be original? I guess it's the only part that's not clearly Shimano 105, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything...

the friggin' unobtanium seatpost....that looks like a cool bike. i just shipped the 62cm frame sans seatpost i picked up on ebay a while back to a C & V'er down in alabama...were it not for the friggin' seatpost, i'd be riding that dog...

Picked up a boxful of parts off of CL this week. The highlight was the Shimano Crane GS RD and first gen Dura Ace hubs. The seller, a youngster that's just getting started, didn't know to take the freewheel off before he porcupined the rear hub. Also picked up a late 70's Raleigh Grand Prix thats original and in good shape. Will make a perfect CL commuter.

When I make the thrift store rounds I sometimes drive around the building to see what they're throwing out. It paid off the other day when I found this Fuji Absolute with no tires. I installed new tires and tubes, fresh grease in the BB and rear hub, trued the wheels and shes ready to rock. Celeste frame is 4130 with forged drops. :D
