Both saved from tip both humbers blue one dated 11 1948, gold one I think is a 51ish as the badge still mentions the king.

I know mine isn't very exciting for most, and no pic yet. After a looooooong wait I finally found a Varsity/Collegiate frame in 24". I think I will build a 20's-30's style bike out of it. Upside down bars, single speed, Old Beat up Brooks, shellaced cork grips, dark earthy color, etc. I might even add a truss style bar in the frame, sort of a double top tube. Should be fun, and not real binding on the correctness factor. The frame has been repainted a dark purple color, but it has a steel stem and blade forks so I'm pretty sure of the low end status.,,,,BD

Oh yeah, the Collegiate is a cheapo, but I love mine. I know the Suburban had tubular forks and I think the Varsity was similar. The old fart at my lbs gives me grief every time I talk about my Collegiate, saying "turd made for the masses" to which I remind him that it has a sticker from his bike shop.

I believe I caught a good one today. It's been awhile since I've had any luck, but this made up for it. As far as I can tell it's an 86-87 Peugeot PSN10 in very good shape(brown with the typical Peugeot stripes). It has a Super Vitus 980 frame,chrome Vitus (Peugeot) engraved fork, full Campy Victory group, Modolo Speedy brake calipers and levers, Cinelli bars, brown suede leather saddle, Mavic 700c wheels. I have'nt gotten the serial number or any pictures yet, but I'll be sure to get some tonight. The best thing was the price..$24.99 plus tax...Almost identical to this one posted on BF back in 06..

Ok, I have some pics of the Peugeot. It has some nicks and scrapes but all in all in pretty good shape. This is just after I brought it home with no clean-up. It is a 58cm. I think it was a catch at $25. The serial number is B502 51918. Here is a link to some close-ups...

Nice. Now I get to see what mine will look like (kind of) when I am done building it! I paid a lot more then $25 for the frame only!! I am glad I got yellow bar tape, it will look great. Good find.

The crankset on that Peugeot is a Triomphe, not Victory. I have several & like their looks. On the plus side, I think they are slightly lighter weight than the Victory. Don

RD is also Triomphe.

Ok, I was just going by all of the stock info I was getting off of cyclespeugeot that said it came with Victory. What is the quality difference between the two? It needs a little TLC to get it back to road ready , but not much. I'm still up in the air about replacing the tape with yellow or going with a brown. The yellow is growing on me. miamijim- has informed me it is an 85. That catalog says it is a Triomphe group also..

I love the twisted Sakae cranks. A truly interesting crank that looks like nothing else out there. Very unique. I have one of those on a Raleigh, and it may get robbed, hehe.

Here's the update on the Fuji Series III. Rides like a caddy and doesn't lose a lot of cranking energy through frame flex like my Shogun Alpine seems to. Feels very similar to my Club Fuji in stiffness, due to the quad butted tubes. This bike jumped into my top five the first time I rode it.,,,,BD

After! Decided on black hoods and dark red wrap, since the color scheme would not look right with gum color, IMHO. A little hard to see, but the wrap is a pretty decent match for the housing and graphics. They're a deep maroon. If I run across a darker red, I will go with that. For now it looks pretty decent.

I was wondering too. I've installed those before, I can't remember what they are. I have Zefals or some such thing for the Bianchi (got them for $5 - ain't gonna complain) that use the sliding supports that never stay put.

I don't think I'd leave that laying around overnight.... That's a cool bike and I'd try to keep it safe.
