Schwin Varsity rebuild.

So tomorrow my girlfriend and I are going to restore her Schwin tomorrow Well, were actually going to do a SS conversion. However, my questions are: It has a one piece crank. Should I clean out and re-grease the bearing in the BB. Should I re-pack the wheel bearings? What about the headset?

Thanks in advance,
Freelander

Yes to all of the above. By the way you are not restoring it but refurbishing it. Roger

Even a Schwinn needs a little maintenance every 20 or 30 years or so.

I am sure that the crank and headset bearings will love a little cleaning and some re-greasing lov'in. It is so easy on a bike with a one piece crank it would be silly to not do it.
