Campagnolo Font

I have combed the Internet and this forum for several days trying to identify the Campagnolo logo font (please see picture).

Would anyone happen to know which font this might be?

Thanks so much in advance.

It could be a font owned and patented by Campy. Many companies do this to prevent fakes. Roger

Bikes: Cinelli, Paramount, Raleigh, Carlton, Zeus, Gemniani, Frejus, Legnano, Pinarello, Falcon

Probably hand-lettered, long before computer fonts...

It would be easy to duplicate a complete Campy alphabet but the style is probably copy righted by Campy so not commercially available.

Lots of commercial logotypes are purpose-designed, and won't be found in a type catalog. This is especially true of scripts, with connected letters.

I reproduced the logo as vector art. If you want this for your own personal use send me a PM and I will email you the hi-res.

that small R in a circle to the lower right of the logotype indicates trademark.

Its theirs, and theirs alone. But, if you have old campagnolo propaganda, its evolved a bit, most of the time in the corporate world the evolution took place when the print world went to digital. An artist, was told or took a slightly different approach to create the outlines, and the New version got approved.

So, if you don't use it for commercial purposes the hammer will most likely not fall on you. If you do, Campagnolo has gone after this stuff.

There's a blurb in the new Campagnolo book about the design of the script logo - done by an artist if memory serves. I'll try to post on it after work, if someone hasn't already done so.

Bikes: everywhere

Brands of the World has a nice eps file of the logo...

If you're looking to spell other words with the font, you could start with Loki Cola and modify with the vector art program of your liking.

I just uploaded it to WhatTheFont, and nothing comes close. My guess is that it was a hand-created font specifically for Campagnolo.

Thanks everyone.

I am actually not interested in using the "Campagnolo" logo itself, but wanted to use the same font type to create some other applicable text that only cycling people could easily recognize. Thought it would be fun and kind of cool.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Also, before it's too late, Merry Christmas everyone.

The Campy logo is hand drawn and no off-the-shelf font comes close.

The lettering that campy uses is done with a font called "serpentine"

I'm a graphic designer as well as a cyclist, I know these things, so if you have any more questions, please ask.

I have seen old cycling films crediting Campy as Campagnola. Deliberate or a mistake?

(I know this is an old thread, but I've just stumbled across it via Google, and registered as a forum user so that I could post this reply.)

For your amusement (at least, I hope you're amused and not offended)...

I am a member of Club Ciclistico Coglioni:

https://cccoglioni.com

I designed the club logo. I did what dbakl recommended: "letter what you need".

Yes, I know what Coglioni means. Yes, I know it's rude :-)
