Find The Wrong Things in This Picture...

Of course, if anyone is interested in it, I could pick it up and hold it for you.
I can't imagine anyone is, though.

So....how many "wrong" things do you see?

Bikes: Many

Appears to have dirt bike handle bars on the front, back handle bars are up side down, wrong wheel, knobbies, crank arms misaligned maybe?

It's ugly.

Too ugly to look at long enough to identify everything wrong. Might be easier to identify what is right.

You forgot "no brakes".
It has a SA-type internal gear hub (not hooked up), but there isn't a coaster brake torque arm anywhere to be seen....

And I love the Once-Silver, rust-covered Profile Boa stem for the stoker.

I think this bike is a fine example of the term "Basket Case". It has no redeeming features at all. White spray paint, bent up fenders, wrong wheels, wrong handlebars, wrong stoker stem.... There's nothing to like about it. Well, except for its amusement value....

Too bad that thing isn't local. It's got potential.

I'm bidding on an old Bianchi that's almost a basket case. It's currently at $0.99. I thought about buying it for $100 on CL, but decided against it. She's now listed it on eBay. With shipping of $165. Or pickup for free. Since it's in my old college town 50 miles away, I reckon I'll pick it up if I win.

It does not appear that the crank can actually do a complete rotation without the pedals hitting the ground.

Smart move! I have scored a couple of bikes that way, one was a Univega for $21. Nothing better than grossly high shipping (OK, local pickup only is almost as good).

You could well score that Bianchi for under $50.

Yep. I think that is a side effect of the wrong size wheels.

No brakes are required because it will never move, lol.

It has a freewheel with no derailer or shifter. Someone replaced the rusted out wheels, probably 26X 1 1/8, with what they thought were the same size, MtB 26" wheels, but they're not the same size. Geez, what a mess.

Those look like they must be 24" wheels, not 26".

I agree, I've always liked the elegant curved rear seat tube on the T&C. And it'll be a real beauty when it's properly restored.

I love the old Schwinn tandems. I just think that the one in the auction is too far gone for me. I'd never be able to start because I wouldn't know where to do so. lol

I DO, however, have a set of the correct wheels for that at the shop somewhere; taken off of a Schwinn tandem that they wanted "lighter" wheels on. (I put 650B wheels on it)

I'd buy it for the chain guard alone
