This is gonna be fun!
So... got home from work today...
And was incredibly excited to find out that not only had my order from Universal Cycles come in...
My order from Total Cycling in Ireland had as well (because they had the best prices on two items).
So, yeah... My night is going to consist of building wheels, mostly, and also ogling all my new goodies.
TC had the best prices on Phil Wood hubs, and if you can wait the shipping process out... I'd say it's worth it. I see what they mean about Phil's not spinning too well before the bearings break in. Oh well... It's worth it. Especially considering how long I've wanted Phil's. They'll be laced to Mavic Open Pro's (black), with DT Competition spokes and nipples. Velox rim tape, and Wheelsmith spoke prep. And will have Michelin Pro 3 Race tires mounted on them. Cool thing about UC, they sent me an extra spoke for each length, which I thought was pretty nice of them, unless someone just mis-counted. It'll have a 45cm Nitto B-115 handlebar, Shimano PD-6610 pedals, Blackburn Chicane cages, Cinelli white cork tape (since I couldn't find Planet Bike cork tape and didn't want to make a seperate order for it), A full Suntour GPX group (Thanks again RobbieTunes - White hoods cleaned up GREAT with WD-40) with Sprint 9000 Power Ratchet shifters, likely an IRD freewheel, and... I think that's it. Saddle is still an unknown, but I've got one in the mean time. I'd love to do the Frame Saver tonight, but... It's gonna be 9 degrees tonight and I'll just wait till the weekend, even though I'll be dying to mount up all the parts.
*Deep sigh* I'm gonna have some fun. I mounted the handlebar and then sat the frame on the floor and got in the position and just imagined... Sorry guys, I've been waiting for a while for this to come together.
Here's some pics, it was quite an order. BTW, it's for the DX-6000, just in case you didn't know.

Phil Wood hubs have lots of drag because they are built to last not built for fast. I have phil wood hubs on two bikes, my touring bike (cassette version, probably nearly as have as a SA 3 speed hub, has FOUR!! cartidge bearings that are classified as SUBMERSABLE) so you can be sure they are sealed up tight. I don't care about weight and I want the burliest most dependable hub that I know will not give me a single issue on my touring bike. The other bike is my fixed gear which I run errands on, go to work get from A-B in the city basically. I live in the pacific northwest so it rains a lot and they are subject to lots of bad weather. I choose phil because I want them to last and to do minimal service (I was sick of overhauling the crap Maillard hubs I used to have on this bike)... Anyway... they might have a lot of drag from the seals but they are smooth and will last forever.
Edit: I mean no disrespect or to come off a haughty, just talking tech... I think phil wood is an excellent choice for any bicycle other than one on the pro tour.

Guys, it's a Panasonic DX-6000 frame, a very nice build. Amani576 is a good guy, I think he's 20, and he's pretty excited, as you can tell. I wish I could scoot over there and have some of the fun. I'm hoping roccobike, Otto Rax, and myself can join him on a ride. It'll happen.

Got the front wheel mostly done. It's been pretty hectic since I got home, i've had quite a few things to do aside from bike stuff. I still haven't quite calmed down completely. Tomorrow i'm gonna build the rear wheel, and hopefully get tires and tubes mounted and take pictures to show you guys. They're suprisingly light, though I didn't exactly pick heavy components. I'll update as stuff gets done, framesaver is planned for saturday afternoon so that I can get building Sunday.

Sorry for no update yesterday, I was exhausted from work (and severe caffeine withdrawals). Well I got the back wheel laced up and tensioned a little, but haven't put it in my truing stand yet. I just did the framesaver (stuff smells like crayons) and it's now sitting upside down on my kitchen table over a towel. I really didn't expect it to be so messy, but ah well. I'm gonna try and finish the wheels tonight, so hopefully I'll have pictures of them soon. Tomorrow is semi-final build day, i'll still need a freewheel and cables, but am hoping to do those this week. I'm hoping to have it done this friday as a birthday present to myself. Thanks for looking everyone.
