Royal Knight

found this bike, it looks late 70's, has sticker decals saying its a "Royal Knight" Suntour Honor front and rear, had no brakes on it, chromed steel wheels and handlebar. it fits me so thats why I grabbed it. it looks like cheap, taiwanese bike boom 70's stuff. its gold painted. the tires are holding air and its lugged from what I can see. just wondering if theres any other info to find or know, advice or comments, its driving me nuts because I'm a master at finding where anything was made, what era, quality and pricing and options but I cant even find a bike company named Royal Knight or anything. it looks like a cheap replica of my olmo, its heavy and everything once aluminum is steel on this, but it fits perfectly and its deffininitly 30+ years old so I think I'm gonna tear it down, clean it up and ride it.
anyone have any ideas, comments, advice or opinions?? lol thanx guys. how do I put up a pic? I can take a few pics with my blackberry and give it a go.

by the way, I saw a set of handlebars sticking out of a snow bank, after 40+ minutes picking thru solid ice with a car snow scraper I managed to free it from its tomb, meanwhile my wife was laughing and snapping away pics on her phone inside the car, calling me a big kid, idiot, and dumbass all the while... but it fits

Hi there! I've got the same problem as you. I've aquired an old royal knight but can't seem to find info on it anywhere. Mine says made in canada on it but the rims say made in taiwan I think. The rims seem to go with it so I don't believe they we're put on after. It has a coaster brake and is in very rough condition. I'm gonna be tearin it down and fixin it to ride. Lemme know if you find any info. Cheers!

Canadian. Montreal

I scored one today. A mid 1970s royal knight with dura ace brakes. At first I thought it was a Bridgestone ..ut found out it was not. Royal knights were made from 1972 to 1980. Then the company dissolved. I believ the new Royal Knight bicycles have no relation to the old ones.
