I had no idea they were worth that kind of money. I have a non-discerning ass, so I've traded or given them away and got newer saddles.
I think I've rotated through about 4 or 5, and I think one went on a bike I gave away at Christmas, a Raleigh Rapide...

About 20 months ago, I sold a NOS white one for $40, just before they got really hot. DOH!

I just traded a Bernard Hinault edition, so it could complete a Turbo bike rebuild.
I've always liked the BH model, and if I had a tourer, that would be the one I'd use.

I also have a nearly NOS suede one with an original cover (the cover is faded, the saddle is not).

OK, good find. But I got one of my Bernard Hinault Turbos
for $8, the cost of shipping, from a BFer to whom I will
be forever grateful. She took pity on me because one of my
'84 Centurions was all-original except for the saddle. :-)

New Haven, CT. Hmmm... And interested in Asia? Hmmm.. If you
are at Yale.edu, run an internal search for Nayan Chanda, an
old Asia hand journalist with the Far Eastern Economic Review.
Nayan, a former colleague of mine at the Review, took a
famous still picture of North Vietnamese battle tanks crashing
through the gates of the South's Presidential Palace in Saigon
in 1975 during the closing days of the war. The tanks are
still there, just inside the gates.
.

I will do so, and thanks for the heads up!

The color you want is called ox blood or cordovan, sold at finer shoe stores everywhere.

I have several I got in a pkg deal for a couple of mountain bikes. My favorite is White triathlon model. Not perfect but not horrible either. I also have a couple of plain black ones, and one of the model with the reflective plastic rainbow inserts in front and back. It must be the padding, but I find the Rolls to be painful? It's very stiff and too firm in the "middle". It's a new or NOS one with the textured suede like a Terry Fly saddle.,,,,BD

Ha! Actually, I realised after I posted that someone might think I was trying to sell it on this thread (not allowed I believe), that is why I edited my statement. But Karma is a good thing...hmmmm....
