Centurion Phase 1 Complete!

I know the fenders don't match, and the black bar wrap is too dark, but I think you'll get the general idea:

I borrowed another rear wheel from the fleet, and I found some different pedals:

So far, so good. I have to overhaul the original wheel's hub, get some(gray?) bar tape, and get some blue tough-up paint. Not bad for $70. Oh, by the way, it rides like a dream.

Good work there, and good find. $70? Wow! That couldn't have been e-bay...e-bay is way too overinflated.

Supah! You're just the guy I want to talk to.

I have an "order" for a road bike, but with either flat bars or something like you have. His exact words were, "I can't bend over like that, my belly hits my knees, so I need something a little more upright."

So, I'm going to propose about what you have, but with 3x9 STI shifters on bullhorns, or else a flat bar road bike, with MTB stuff. I don't even know if the MTB shifters would work.

Most bullhorns are "road" diameter, as opposed to 22.2 MTB diameter. However, I believe that Soma makes some 22.2 bullhorns.

these 'horns are cut down from alloy road bars-the same ones I had on my Fuji S10-S. I'll probably put drops on that when I rebuild it. And this bike was sitting quietly at my favorite Goodwill store . I'm surprised it was donated and not CL'ed.

A Goodwill find?!? Wow...very nice work there. I went browsing Goodwill for vintage steel a few times...nothing at all approaching what you have there.

Better to be lucky than good...

Sometimes a good bike winds up at the craziest places. Good find on your "Goodwill Centurian".

Went for a ride today on mine. Still just as sweet as the day I got it.

I agree. This makes the fourth score from that one Goodwill, not counting a few that got away (I remember an Austrian Sears 3-speed in particular):
A Panasonic Sport 1000, too big, $20:

My current daily rider, a Redline Conquest Two, $8:

A 1970's Schwinn Breeze, 98% original, $50:

and the aforementioned Centurion.
