They're not dime-a-dozen.
I notice you originally referenced an "Argentine" model and subsequently corrected it to "Argentin." Moreno Argentin won the World Championships on a similar bike in Colorado in '86.
They're nice bike - if I was looking for a Bianchi, I'd be looking for one, too.

yup, there's not a whole lot of info on the 'net out there.. but from what i've been able to piece together from owners of the bikes, it's basically a special edition they put out in 88 that was a replica of the one moreno argentin rode in 86.
the owner of some bicycle store in pasadena actually has an identical one (original team bike) from 86 hanging up in his store.. of course it wasn't for sale

You are using Jaxed.com to search right? The guy in Chicago sold his for $2000 and there was one listed in Maine for....$150.

Not an X-4, but would it be considered an "Argentin" model frame? I know squat about Bianchis.

Thanks for posting that. This has been a pretty informative thread generally, especially for those of us not well versed in Bianchis.

I bought this Bianchi (56cm c-t) earlier this year for the Chorus groupset, Delta brakes and Campa wheelset. I paid 150 euros for the complete bike and figured that a Bianchi frame will sell easily since the frame is too small for me and I needed the parts for another build.
I wasn't in a hurry selling it so I packed it up and stored it for a few months.
This week I took it out for some pictures because I've put it up for sale locally (taking bids). I knew it's not your everyday Bianchi as I hadn't found a single frame on the net that looked like mine. I got some info from a guy that saw my ad and he told me it could be Specialissima X4.
I started to search and found this thread and some info on sheldonbrown and a few more like the bike on speedbicycles.ch
It looks just like the Argentin replica with all the engravings but mine had a celeste fork, black headtube and rear forks. It has TSX tubing so it must be early '90s.
I'm also starting to think that it has been resprayed at some time...

Hi my name is Ed and I recently aquired a bianchi x4 argentin frame and fork. I wasn't sure if anyone out there was interested in buying it or not. It is the special colorado edition described by vainglorious in other posts. Anyways, the detail in the construction are 1st rate especially the cable routing on the bottom bracket. It also has internal cable routing on the rear chain stay. All of the correct accents of frame color are evident as well with gold highlights in the emblem stamps on the lugs and the sides of the bladed forks which were orginally painted black, as are the rear chainstays. Everything else is celeste green. I'm not sure what material the frame is made out of other than the stx tubing indicated from the stickers. Iv'e heard that it could be completely chromed after construction then painted. Some of you Guru's would now better than me. Anyways please contact me if your interested at my e-mail edlaura@xmission.com and I can give you better details. Does anyone out there know how many were made? I can tell you that there are only 5 didgits on the BB but thats all. Thanks for your help sincerely ed
