A "streetwise" Bridgestone for $425. I guess street wise means missing parts and almost comically overpriced. The seller keeps listing it over and over, so for the price has dropped maybe $50.

Interesting concept.

[h=2]Bicycle engineering project - $600 (Long Beach)[/h] Powered by LeafletTerms

The frame is 54cm miyata road bike.
it is equipped with a Hydraulic Kinetic Energy Recovery System.
It was assembled as part of design class
all the components bought new for the project were well over the asking price including the bicycle, as most engineering projects are
We're a team of students just trying to recoup some of the cost of constructing the project
It does have two aluminum custom machined components in order to utilize a bicycle fixed gear and freewheel for the motor and pump
here's a video of the system working https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSX9-EuBEFw
If you're interested in buying the project to further refine or as a conversation piece, reply to the craigslist e-mail above.
this machine attracts a lot of attention.

I don't quite get it... you pedal for ten minutes flip a valve and the bike propels itself for ten feet?

If he had "stretchy pants" and a cape he could demand more for it.

I rode it (~145#). The biggest problem is the skateboard wheel on the front, which doesn't like bumps.

Wow. Really? Mine must be worth at least $600 then, even with all the rust and missing parts. On that note, I am going to go for a single speed ride, then fishing for a couple of hours,,,,BD
