250 hours of custom fab work? jeez. He could have built an airplane in that time.

Cockpit looks a little cramped, too. No wonder he's selling it.

It was listed at $400 a couple of weeks ago. I think at this point he's ready to negotiate.

I dunno, that 'turd' is polished pretty well. I don't know about $850 well, but I'd say $500-600 for a 20lb lugged steel bike with tubeless wheels and some DA/Ultegra is fair.

Those bikes are "iconic". I don't understand the $21 in the title followed by the $21,000.00 in the body of the ad. I'd say they're probably worth somewhere in between those two prices.

Wow! The first one I thought was outrageous enough, but TWO?! You'd think the second one would be a few dollars less for lower quality brakes, Tourney crankset, etc.

I assumed it was a typo until I read the second one.

Yep. I thought he left out the decimal and was looking for $210.

Ummm, that's actually pretty cool? I have a thing for vintage Columbias too, which helps. That's the cost of one of those bikes, so the price is right too.,,,,BD

It looks like the bikes are attached so they can be ridden like a side-by-side tandem.

i've seen this bike for a year. give or take. i've even emailed him trying to discuss the bike, and no response. keeps advertising, though....nobody is going to buy this for $1300, if it's even a legit ad.

^^ I find there are an alarming number of CL posters in the DC area who apparently don't know to check their spam filter/folder for responses.
On multiple occasions I've responded to DC area CL ads basically saying "OK, I'll buy it now for the price posted, can I come by and pay you cash?", and never get a response.

i never knew, for certain, if you were in this area, but i've seen some rides on CL that looked similar to some of the bikes you've posted here. that said; agreed. i'm not sure if it's the market, itself, or that people here are so glib with their dealings that they just ignore people.
