Here's a Ross courtesy of kijiji- but I have a hunch something else is going on here. The pictures show what looks to be a modern front fork from some Mountain bike, and over the past few weeks the seller has changed the seat and tires and added the light. It used to say it was 'barn fresh' - and in a private message they told me it was found recently in a barn, where it was stored since the late 60s. I searched for 10 minutes through google images for a Ross with a straight fork like that, and a Ross with the same Font - but I cannot find a match. Is the seller being devious, or is this genuine?

^^ Perhaps dubious, not devious. I agree with you that it is not barn fresh.

I think the seller is mostly mistaken on the dating of the bike it is late 70's or early 80's not 1960's.

That fork was common on atb's back then. Bmx forks with longer legs. Cheaper to make, no new tooling. I say late 70's. By 81-82 they had another font on the dt ROSS.,,,,Bad

The price of this bike isn't wacky, the presentation is.

1970s sekine 10 speed racing bike - $100

Nice bike needs tires , real light bike all aluminum.

That's the worst powdercoating I've ever seen. Can you imagine if they just painted it and said it was powdercoated.

Everything is a "hybrid" and they are all $250 no mater what a POS it is.
this clown on the Atlanta CL calls everything a hybrid, you name it, Schwinn mt, drop bar road bikes, they are all hybrid. He usually puts a bunch of characters like @@@@@@@in his title. Gives no information at all, I mean nothing, not even a brand. I suspect it's some new scam where he will ship after you put a deposit but not going to mail to find out.

It is a very unique bike, but I don't think they're going to get the $300 they're asking IMHO. It's got some good stuff there, and probably is a good gravel grinder... it's kind of growing on me...

I've heard of people using a front derailleur to keep the chain on when running a 1x drivetrain. Maybe the price is wacky depending on where you are, but the derailleur could have a purpose.

"Very unique" = fail. Something either is unique or it is not. There are no degrees of uniqueness. Unique means one-of-a-kind. Perhaps the seller is looking for the word unusual.

Most awful frame ever:

[h=2]Schwinn Chicago 60639 frame - $50 (santa ana)[/h]

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap

(google map) (yahoo map)

condition: fair

Awesome chicago schwinn frame. It is great for a new project on starting a new bike or building an already made one, like a fixie. Price IS negotiable, so let me know what you think. The frame is for 27 rims. So the bike is pretty tall. If no answer you may leave message or email is considered preferable Junior 171492232zero8 thank you.

Looks like an OEM stem off an entry level 1990's MTB. Our '97 TREK 820's originally had stems just like it. I think I still have them somewhere, the wife's was a 1" and mine was 1-1/8". IIRC they were "System" brand, nothing special.

Yes, but the SS takes a .883 stem.

I think we stumbled upon someone for who English isn't their first language. I took a look at his "Feedback left for others". It was about half in Spanish and half in English.

I don't know. The bike has pink lettering and bar tape. He may not have meant "guy"...
