It's that sort of unique technical innovation that has made that bike appreciate in value to $500 2nd hand, when it was only $299 when new.

Wow, I missed those.
Did he change the prices since the previous sales?

Sometimes I'll add "Highest First" to my searches which helps pick out some of the quality products. But it doesn't mean blindly clicking on what comes to the top of the list. Some of the Welgo pedals available elsewhere have Titanium spindles, but this seller apparently has the garden variety steel spindles on his overpriced pedals.

Most other items from that seller seem to be within reason, although a few keyboards seem to be more expensive than I'd expect.

That star destroyer looks absolutely wicked.

I could imagine a 4 wheeled pedal powered float, but 4 independent bikes trying to ride together.
With collars around the riders necks?

WOW!!

I suppose there were a lot of Huffy and Schwinn bikes sold, so perhaps they'll hit some of the nostalgia market.

However, those people who are interested in spending $3000 on a bicycle probably aren't the same ones that are interested in riding a Huffy.

Here's quite the description, and not a bad bike for the price, really. Not sure that it is the babe-magnet it is portrayed to be, tho.

"I wish that one of the categories on craigslist was "lifestyle" because I'm not just selling a bike, I'm selling confidence and swagger; and it comes with green cable housings and a loud-ass brass bell. When you roll up on this Ross Eurosport remember to ring the bell twice-- there will be a Philly Special ready for you before before you even finish getting the u-lock out from your belt. Even if you just rode to church.

Up for sale is my beloved Ross Eurosport road bike. My dad rode this thing when he was a kid. He once told me that the orange reflector on the back of the seat was one of the main reasons my mom married him. When I was born he knew he wanted to pass down his legacy to me so he kept this thing in pristine shape until he felt that I was ready to start having sex. I turned it into a single speed a few years back to cut some weight and recently re-did the brakes and brake cables with the signature green Jagwire housings you see in the photos. I also re-packed the crank bearings, replaced the rear axle, and re-packed the axle bearings when I did the brakes.

This thing was built as tough as a Mack truck in Allentown, PA and is 100% ready to ride-- no grinding gears, no bald tires, no busted brakes that you see on some of the Schwinns floating around the city for sale. I've been using it as my main mode of transportation (to yoga) for a few years and have kept it in tip-top shape. It's rare that it gets ridden in the rain and it has always been stored indoors.

If I can give you one piece of advice to enhance your life it would be to buy this bike. Then go buy a breast milk pump, chocolate syrup, a super soaker, and goggles because things are about to get a little weird.

This thing is competitively priced so don't be "that guy" that tries to haggle $10 off of a $75 bike. It's not a good look.."

Cute story about the Ross...
Might have been a head-turner a few decades ago. Looks a bit worn today.

How about this one:
Two bikes, in pieces. Make them whole again.

If this isn't a metaphor, I don't know what is.

My ex decided to take up bike repair. He started on a low-end spare my dad had (Magna). Then became overly confident and tore apart my retro Raleigh beach cruiser with the intent of spiffing up the paint job. What you see in the photos is pretty much how the repairs, and the relationship, ended.

Well, in the early 1970s, Schwinns used to sell for a few hundred more than Huffys, so the relationship may still hold.

The Paramount looks like an almost decent bike... for a Schwinn.
Original Owner 58cm Schwinn Paramount Campagnolo Super Record Road Bike Bicycle | eBay

Here is the 1970 Schwinn Catalog and the 1980 Schwinn Catalog.
If the Varsity was a couple hundred more than the Huffy.
That would put the Huffy into negative territory

From the 1972 Catalog, the Schwinn Paramount was a $350 bike. So if the Huffy was $50, voila, a $300 price difference in 1972

Those bobbed fenders are especially designed to dump dirt and grit onto the brakes.

I have never understood how folks can ride with the saddle pointing down like that.
