Lol. Yeah I also like 'I dont know anything about sizes but I'm 5'9' and it fits me perfect', usually describing a bike that wouldnt fit someone anywhere near that size.

I also recently saw an ad recently where the seller mentons they're not an 'expert' on bikes 'but the little arms that the pedals come out of look really nice', lol.

I think it could use some long reach brake callipers though. Are there any designed to grab tire rubber?

Of course, on a track, it is all about going fast, not stopping.

Wicked seat position too

They may be sturdy enough for some use. As sturdy as a "big wheel"? I would imagine most of the weight stays on he rear axle, so it depends on how that is made.

Aren't they supposed to have a seat? Does one just balance on the axle?

No, I don't want to try it so what do I get in lieu of the guarantee?

From what I've seen, they always have a seat.

Speaking of endless CL ads, I am really getting tired of all the repeats. I swear when I look at my local CL's 'bicycle parts' section, its the SAME stuff every day, the same stuff that I've literally been seeing everytime I've perused the site for the last 1.5 years. There are items on there - many items - for like $5-10 that have been on there FOREVER. I cant believe someone would actually continually list something that cheap for that long. It's gotten to the point that I'm using the site less and less since there's rarely anything new..

The Portland Craigslist has an issue that for some reason it times-out Craigslist adds every week or so. And bookmarking is pretty worthless

Today: February 4th
Oldest Bike Ad: January 28,

That means people have to repost often.

Here in Eugene, we have ads dating back to December 21.

You could try using those check boxes on the right side of the ads.
I don't think they give the seller a bad mark, although perhaps it would be ok if that is done. I'm not sure how well they work with reposting. I suppose it depends whether it is a simple re-up, or a full recreation of the ad.

WHEW... mid winter, and Portland has 2,437 bike ads in 7 days, plus 1094 parts ads.

Here in Eugene, we might be lucky to get 1 or 2 NEW parts ads a day. A few new bike ads, but I'm not sure how many are rehashing. I just tend to ignore all the 70's era Schwinns and Murrays, as well as most of the MTBs. Not a lot is left to snag my interest.

Oh, that partial fixie conversion of a Milwalkee is finally dropping in value. Maybe in another month, it might be down to a reasonable price

Custom hand made Milwaukee Bike Co raod bike. New $900 TRADES? - $195 (springfield)
Here it was a few months ago for $450

Business opportunity:? craigslist wrapper that allows you to click on ads you've seen already and say 'don't show me this anymore'

As I mentioned, there is a check box to the right of each ad. Although, it may or may not work with reposted ads, or may depend on how the seller is reposting. It would be nice to select a range, and tag 20 or 30 ads at a time. Or, perhaps do a page, and select a few not to do. I'm quick with down-arrow + space bar on things like the Firefox crash menu.

It certainly would be tough if a seller reposts all new photos, as was done with the Milwaukee bike above.

One of the differences between E-Bay is that E-Bay is seller oriented, while Craigslist isn't. Perhaps one could search for a phone number?

There is the division between personal/business sales, but the avid home mechanic falls halfway between the groups.

I accidently hit that on my own ad and was going crazy trying to find it. It does it's job, but I couldn't find a way to restore the ad so I had to go back in and repost it.

^It's a light, but it's more of a wheel light. It mounts in between the spokes and creates a full circle of light when the wheel is rotating--often multi-colored and very visible, especially from the side.

Lotus 12 speed 25" - $150

Excellent 12 speed road bike designed by sports car developer Lotus Cars. 25", excellent condition, very little wear and tear.
One modification: drop bar has been replaced with a straight bar for a more comfortable touring use.
This change is easily reversed, if desired.
Can't afford the car? Ride their bike!

I never thought of hiding one of my own ads. Excellent Idea

When I hide other ads, I see a red X in the top right hand corner of the main search page. Click on the X, and I get a list of hidden ads, and can unhide them individually.

That X seems to be page dependent, only showing ads that would otherwise be on the same page.

However, it is a searchable field. So, hide an add. Then search for a keyword in the ad and it will show up in the red X.

You people are never satisfied! He gave the brand name of the spokes and the model number of the Chinese made headset - how can the bike model make any difference?

This tells you everything you need to know about the crazy Toronto bike market.
Bare frame, replaced fork, creases obviously removed from top tube and down tube, still has dents, I assume HiTen frame tubing, would have to be painted.
$260

Best cash offer.
The frame needs repair if you want it to be original, this is more of a winter project/ parts frameset. some good old oddball parts for collectors or people that restore older steel bicycles. Frame has been repaired at some point, dented from a lock banging on the frame for years. Headset is a Bianchi headset, couple of rust spots, some of the headset lock nuts are chewed up a bit, but could be replaced, forks are Columbus Cromor and are better quality then the frame is. I am inlcluding a 26.2mm seatpost that fits this frame and a stem and handlebars that fit, the seatpost and stem are new, handlebar is about 15 yr old Profile Design 42cm alloy drop bar.

Bianchi headbadge, fork, and headset, frame needs repair | other | Markham / York Region | Kijiji

Right, Lotus Bicycles and Lotus Cars are the same company just as Apple Computers and Apple Records are. While Lotus (cars) was involved in the development of some exotic TT bikes, it had nothing to do with this one, I'll wager. While Sid Star and his brother marketed some very nice Lotus bikes over the years, one should never confuse the two Loti.

Sid's Lotus logo here:

I found other pix of bikes more aero than this one, but I specifically wanted the ACBC (Anthony Colin Bruce Chapman, founder of Lotus Cars) Lotus logo to show.
