I answered a "Peugeot bike $125" ad with no pictures. It was a late 70's PX10 when he rolled it out of the house.,,,,BD

Soooo, you shoot the competitors in the face as they try to pass? Or do you ingest it yourself and feel like a winner even though you're dead last.,,,,BD

Yeah but to be fair, that ad did have 'Peugeot' in it, which was far more info than 'good bike', lol.

How would you reach those bottles during your ride

You don't need to,
If they are battery packs for stealth motors. :)

Perhaps it beat the neighborhood dog 3 times. The fourth time wasn't so lucky

To be fair, apparently the bike has been advertised since at least June 2015, and has been dropped in price by at least $100 :thumb:

I thought it was a lot older song than it is. But, apparently it is a made-up story, or melding of a couple of stories. But, it is hard to say that paying the full asking price was "cheating" anybody. If I get a good price on Craigslist, I'll often round up $5, and everyone is happy :)

And, of course, if the event was real, it would have been Private Malone's car, and the note in the glovebox indicated that he might have been ok with the sale.

True they are valid. I just thought her reason that he got a car so doesn't ride anymore was kinda funny, like he rode it to get places.

Not a bad deal for mental files.

A couple look badly contaminated.

RALEIGH BIKE

Hello, my name is Fidel Balsnurfce. I had a Bike left at my house apprx 6 days ago. I've been asking people about the bike but nobody seems to know where it came from. Looks pretty nice. The color is STEALTH black just like them bomber Jets be looking. (This bike doesn't fly) Wish it flew! That would be pretty assume right ?!?! I was thinking 50$ seems a quite too high for this wonderful bike. So 40$ and a bottle of Patron will do it. 420 friendly as well ;) This bike is plenty fun! There is a pretty hefty lock on this bike.. It's okay I know some people tho that can cut it for the low low $$$$ I tried cutting it myself ( see pictures below) no luck with that:( Just check out the pictures! Thank you for taking the time to read this Yours truly

If his major tune-up is anything like mine, then $35 would be a BARGAIN.

Disassembly and cleaning of every bearing in the bike. Checking and/or polishing cones. Adjusting everything. New cables (and housings?) around. Truing wheels., Maybe new tires and tubes. Replacing or repairing other parts as needed. New chain.

Misleading ad, stupid price (sans pedals even). No, it's not a Traveler. No, it's not even the lowlier World Sport. It's just a plain ol' World with pursuit bars.

Nobody answered my question. Anyway, would anybody be crazy enough to fit a motorized bicycle with a nitrous oxide system?

um yes, plenty of people. When we were kids we used to fill our arrow shafts (aluminum) with gunpowder, a bit of cannon fuse, light and shoot. ROCKET arrows!

smart.of course this is when you could go into Bi-Mart at 13 years old, grab a cask of gunpowder, cannon fuse, some pipes and fittings, and the cashier would just ring you up and and ask if you needed any gasoline.

It's the fact that the ad doesn't make sense in some areas and the spelling is terrible. I wonder if this person is anywhere near as good as they sa6y they are? Look at this part: "Minor bicycle tune up for 20 dollars, major is 35 dollars.
minor included: bring, break, switch setting"

What's a 'bring' or a s'switch setting'? I want my brakes to work not 'break'.

Cheers

CliffordK 02-07-16 06:04 PM

True.

There are a few smart individuals who don't verbally express themselves very well. But, yes, a mechanic should know the basic parts and tools they're working with.

I'd expect a basic tuneup to include adjusting Brakes, Brake Levers, Shift Levers, Derailleurs, and etc. Check cones for tightness. A lot will also depend on the bike. Hard to do much derailleur adjustment on a fixie.

degan 02-08-16 10:02 PM

Interesting ad. 3 pictures, two are the same and the third is a slightly better angle, but cuts off the RD and back. Seller says its too small yet the seat is slammed as low as possible. Says its a single speed yet it is clearly geared.
Bike in great shape for sale
