Barrel Adjusters for Campy Brake Calipers??!!
Where can I find replacements? Is it possible? It seems like such an easy part to lose so I'm assuming someone must make replacements, but I can't seem to find them anywhere. Was thinking velo orange might have something but no luck. I don't care about originals or anything, just want the cheapest solution that will fit. Any ideas?

I got two reproduction adjusters from www.icyclesusa.com for 20 clams plus shipping. They fit Campy Record sidepulls just fine and look a lot like the originals.

Woah. Expensive. I'm really just trying to get them to work, without paying a bunch. I think I payed less than $20 for the brakes in the first place... What about hacks? Is it possible to drill out the holes a little bigger and use a cheapo barrel adjuster?
Is it even possible to buy cheap adjusters which are campy-style ie. have the threads screwing into the little rubber knob rather than into the caliper itself? If I were to hack it I wouldn't want to be trying to cut threads into it - too much work...
Did that makes sense?

get your LBS to call campy direct and ask about them. i've gotten some pretty old, random, small parts for customers at the shop i work at or have them call qbp and ask about it, even though it's not in the catalog they also have some weird small parts in their service department.

You could always make a pair, too. Start with a stainless steel bolt with the proper threading. Drill and counterbore the shaft to allow the cable to pass through but restrain the housing.
You can spin the bolt and file/grind/sand the bolt head into the truncated conical profile Campagnolo uses.
You have to flatten the sides but a file would make quick, clean work of that.
You could use a pair of jam nuts as the adjusting feature.
With a stainless steel bolt, no metal finishing is necessary and it won't rust.
Yep, sounds very do-able. Hand tools are all that's necessary except that a drill press is probably necessary to drill and counterbore the deep, straight hole.
Assuming you already own a drill press, the cost would be minimal (buying two bolts). If you had a good attitude, it could be fun to do.

Thanks guys. I like your idea a lot Mike, just the sort of thing I love to do. Gets added to the list of reasons I really want a drill press... I guess I ought to just bite the bullet and buy some extras although I might see if I can find a standard barrel adjuster that would fit when files down. Dunno if I'll be able to get any the right size.
Oh, and sorry Bob, no DA adjusters here.

as a suggestion which I will start doing myself when you get your new adjusters go the hardware store and get some small "O" rings and screw them onto the adjusters after you install them. also it might be easier to flatten the side of a cheap adjuster than drill you campi brakes.

I have access to a metal lathe, so I might try my hand at making a few replacement barrel adjusters. I wouldn't mind turning out a decent number of replacement adjusters if I knew there was a demand for them.
I have also found a source for the replacement o-rings, but would have to buy a pack of 100. Same deal - I need just one and don't want to pay $19 for that, but wouldn't mind supplying other people at cost if there is a sizable need.

Local hardware stores sell suitably-sized o rings either individually or in small quantities. Look in the plumbing repair parts section.
I like the idea of modifying an exisiting barrel adjuster. It would already be drilled and counterbored and have a nice-looking adjuster. That's definitely the way to go.

It didn't occur to you that you got the calipers for sub-$20 because there were no adjusters? I don't buy calipers without the adjusters. They're the hardest part to find, especially Campagnolo.
