Bike ID: What a "The Raleigh"**********
Bought a tall frame the other day from the local bike salvage. Guy behind the counter said it was a Raleigh. And, it had the "typical" bird-like Raleigh plate on the steerer tube, so I took it. (It came with a Technium fork that fit, so I felt it was a decent deal at $25.)
But, upon closer examination, I noticed it said "The Raleigh" in red, with "Nottingham England" underneath. I know they were made in England, but what's the "THE" about??

That one's really rare, they only made one, thus "THE". I have a couple in the basement but they're the more common kind that say "THOSE RALEIGHS" on the headbadge.

Any way to date this frame? There's a number on the bottom of the BB shell - 2769954.
