Vintage Custom Racing 10 Speed 23" Frame - $300 (Milwaukee)

Date: 2011-06-08, 6:46AM CDT
Reply to: sale-jsfhj-2427803460@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
Custom built 10 speed from '70's. 23" frame, 27" alloy rims with sew-up racing tires.
Components for this bike were selected because they were lighter than the Campy parts that were available at the time, including:

Stonglight crank with titanium spindle and sealed bearing
Hi -E rear alloy hub with sealed bearings
Galli Gold brakes
Suntour Cyclone shifters
Bertin custom frame from France, Reynolds ultra light tubing
Campy pedals
Blackburn alloy rear rack
Sakae extra wide alloy handlebars
And much more.
Weighs about 21 lbs. as shown.

Over $1000 invested in parts.

Will throw in panniers (rear saddle bags), front bag, and some tools.
Small dent on top tube, and really could use a paint job.
$300 OBO

Without a doubt, my favorite search on ebay is a world wide of "ancien velo". It consistantly brings the coolest bikes and components. The latest is a turn-of-the-century Clement. It is truely stunning. https://cgi.ebay.com/TRES-ANCIEN-VELO...item3a66f4243d

1983 Univega Gran Turismo - $150 (Sudbury)

Date: 2011-06-11, 2:16PM EDT
Reply to: sale-8hwxt-2434519839@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
I have a 1983 Univega Gran Turismo for sale. This bike rides well and has a good solid frame. It's in good shape but it's got a few niggles. The frame has scrapes, scratches, nicks, and gouges from bike rack transport (it's never been crashed) . The rear gear cassette and chain, and the raised center road tires should be replaced. Still this classic sought-after touring bike is quite ride-able as it is.

New Mavic MA3rear rim, rebuilt <100 miles ago
New SACHS (SRAM w/ snaplink) 8s chain, <100 miles

All original except chain, bars, rear rim, cranks, bb. Addition of the compact crank widens the 13/24 cassette range. Fork has some surface rust, frame shows minimal scratches. The bike has been ridden and not 'museumized'. It's mechanically perfect and rides like classic steel. Would be a phenomenal fixed gear as well.

Reply to: sale-xtyem-2434322107@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
I have one too many bikes, so I am selling my white Trek 400. This is a gorgeous bike, very classic look, and rides beautifully smooth due to the steel frame. I am 5'9" and it fits me well, so I am guessing it is somewhere around a 54cm. This is a great bike for long rides or commuting around the city. Check out the pics and email me if you have questions!

According to Sheldon:

"PRESTIGE (1985-1989): high-end model featuring Tange's Prestige tubeset. The 1985 version used Shimano Dura-Ace components, while the 1989 version was downgraded to Shimano 600 Ultegra. Components unknown for intervening years."

I don't understand what you are refering to. the model appears to be Prestige and judging from the color I would say it was firmly marketd under the umbrella of Diamond Back (aka WSI) and they were attempting to put the 'Ironman' brand to bed. which IMHO was a stupid move.

Probably not a high end bike, but if you like French bikes, and want a 50 year old one for your collection.....

I have 1960's Motobecane Tour de France 10 speed road bike

This is a Dynamax Motobecane "Professional Series" road racer circa 1965

Has a double chain ring in the front and braze-on shifters

It has had a headlight, tail light with generator added _ this is the way I got it but if it does not sell I will begin restoration for single-speed conversion.

$25 FIRM in Fair Haven

    Good job!

I enjoyed a 42mi ride with mine today.
I'm almost sure she'll love it.
