Bikes: many

Scott aerobars made by 3T.
very popular in the day although they are quite flexy when you are really pushing.
I have a set that I cannot decide what bike they should go on.

Yeah, they seem like a decent idea if they fit your needs, but i fee like in practice they wouldn't be as good? the flexing problem you mentioned, plus those drops don't look like a lot of fun to ride in and i cant figure out where i'd put my hands to use those brakes.

They are sort of "period-correct" to the bike, which is actually older than the bars.
They were ok if you put something across them, but "did not inspire confidence under load," if you know what I mean.

I knew a machinist at DuPont in Grifton, NC and he took one look at those, made me a set that were better out of aluminum stock. Not many folks running around in 1985 with aero bars. I promptly tipped over a couple of times and gave them to a friend, who promptly won the NC TT championship using them.

The rider better be careful during hunting season!

I just got a bike with sissy-neon-colored aero bars. The bike hadn't been ridden since the '80s, and I know why. First thing I did was remove those bars.

FWIW, I've been looking for a set of these for my Ironman.
