Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.

Try threading an English thread bottom bracket lockring onto the hub. If it fits, it's English thread. If it's too small, it's Italian. If it goes on about 1/2 a turn and stops, it's French.

I have a set of those hubs laced to some mavic tubulars. It currently has a Shimano 600 6-speed freewheel on it. Are you certain about the Maillard?

Oh, great ! And I thought that it will be necessary to suffer with thread gauges! Many thanks!

The fact that the brand of the freewheel was Maillard doesn't mean a thing. My Maillard freewheels have BSC threads. They also made French and probably Italian.

And another interesting thing. A seller assured me, that hubs have a 128 mm OLD . How can such be?! In fact standard sizes 126 mm and 130 mm. Does anybody know about a standard 128 mm?
