I have an Austro Daimler Inter-10 that I purchased back in the early 80's. I still have the manual and the receipt. It has all it's originals parts. It's been in storage for several years and needs new tires and bindings on the handle bars but that's about the worst of it. I was thinking of listing it on eBay to sell but have no idea what a fair price for it would be .. could someone please let me know the approximate value. Thanks in advance! Mandy

Austro-Daimler was a well-regarded marque from Steyr-Daimler-Puch of Graz, Austria, but I do not recall the particulars of the Inter-10 model. (Perhaps our Vienna-based A-D owner can help.) Please post relevant details, particularly the frame tubing pedigree and the major component makes/models. To arrive at an initial price estimate, we first need to identify a roughly comparable model from the Peugeot, Raleigh, or Bianchi lineup.

The Inter 10 Bike was in the mid range of the Puch (A-D) Road Bikes. Full Shimano 600 and Reynolds 531 Frame.The price for the bike in Austria between 1978 and 1981 was ATS 9000 = 600 US Dollar.
If you get 200 Bucks on ebay you made a great deal.
The high quality AD Bikes like Ultima or Superleicht (Campagnolo SR Reynolds 531 professional) are sold mostly for 500 600 on ebay.
If you do not need the money keep it!

In the Summer of 1977 I bought an AD Inter 10 with a dream of touring the western United States. To prepare the bike, I replaced the stock hubs, bottom bracket bearing and petals with Phill Wood components, and added a Shimano GS extended cage derailleur. I never acheived my dream, but I also never regreted the purchase. The last time I had it in the shop for a tune-up, the owner asked if I wanted to sell it. Is it really only worth $200 on ebay? If so, then I think that I will take Manfred's advice and keep it for another thirty years.

$200 may be a good guess at its eBay value; my Bianchi isn't worth alot more than that, based on a few comps I have seen.

I bought a Puch Inter 10 last year on ebay. Paid 150 Euros for it. I thought it was quite expensive but it is worth every cent. I think it has undergone some changes from the owner who sold it to me. I changed some additional parts like the seat the complete back to get some additional two gears.

The reason I bought it was that it is one of the best looking bikes I have ever seen.

The earlier Inter-10s were not full Shimano 600, as I had one (also 531 and with early Shimano forged dropouts) that featured a Huret Titanio decal and came with Huret titanium derailleurs and a Stronglight crank. I parted it out (sin!) and got more than $200 on ebay for the frame and all the parts...but besides the sinfulness it's always a lot more work to sell it bit-by-bit.

Mine had the Shimano 600 mounted. Except the gear shift. Does anyone have more info about this type?
I have changed some components from my KTM Strada which had Shimano 105.

On the price question ... on a good day you'll get closer to $300 than $200. Just make sure to mention prominently that you're the original owner, and that the frame is 531.

On the downside of price, a few months ago I nabbed a 1982 A-D Starleicht (a step above your bike, and a step below the Ultima, with the main difference being that the Starleicht was all Dura Ace, and the Ultima was all Campy SR) minus the wheelset for $107 ... and that included a Brooks Pro saddle. I think the moral of that story is that A-D is one of the lesser known brands, and won't draw the interest that a Raleigh International, a Peugeot PX10, or one of the big Italian marques might. I'd suggest a high reserve, maybe $179 or $199 per the opinions of value above, to guard against low winning bids from guys like me ...
