Take a look at this...

Am I the crazy one or is there actually something special about this bike. Not much showed up in a search about it so what do you guys think? BTW I am not interested I just want to see why this seller would think this bike could command such a price...

Well, it has break cables, those are unusual.

Typical dilusional seller.

Need better pictures. It doesn't look like anything special from what I can see. Dork disk, and I think I see the gleam of steel wheels. Maybe some of the Raleigh experts will chime in with their assesments.

Bikes: Upright and Recumbent....too many to list, mostly Vintage.

I don't think 'Dicker' means what you think it does

Bring $850 and a tube of chain lube

Yeah that seat is pretty ridiculous, it looks heavier than the bike itself...maybe it has an ejector button and parachute for sticky situations?

The Firebird model was similar ,but earlier than the Raleigh Record. A very basic model-lugged steel frame, cottered steel crank, possibly (really long time ago, so hard to remember exactly) Huret steel derailleurs, steel rims. In good condition, $75 if he is lucky. Wonder what bicycle rubber he is smoking in order to ask the princely sum of $900. Lucky for the potential buyer that he is willing to dicker a bit.

It's not worth the 5 hour drive even if it was $100.

I had one of those in orange. It was nothing special, I sold it to a friend for $75.

Thanks! I like to take the path less traveled. It also had Suntour Barcons. Great bike. Wish I hadn't sold it. Raleigh Super Grand Prix.
