We just learned that our friend Molly has a Swedish postal bike and loves it. Bought it off that auction site and her humble brag is that it weighs 80 pounds. I don't believe that.
It's a 3-speed with coaster brake. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...e57b8dfff6.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...e096e6f08d.jpg 47-622 tires. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...703d197d03.jpg Pump in that metal tube with alloy cap. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...faa430dc1a.jpg She was very excited that anyone else thought her bike is cool. |
^^ Judging from that pic she doesn't mind hauling it up a few stairs. Definitely a healthy lady (or persuasive if she's having her partner do it!)

Kinda bike-ish? Campagnolo wheel on Alfa Romeo concept car.

From about a month back, I spotted this Ebisu at the local, weekly anti-Fascist rally.

This was parked around the corner (near where the Ebisu was parked) but on a different day. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...84e39e013.jpeg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...d6ba67123.jpeg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...40f521cde.jpeg |

Sweet looking lemond outside Safeway. You know you’re in a fancy neighborhood when it’s 10pm and they don’t really lock their bike well.
campy nine speed. Very tasteful https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...c4b1a6837.jpeg |
Been admiring this daily rider of a fellow train commuter for a few days. Finally got a chance to chat with him and grab a photo.

Spotted today....
I walked past a bicycle shop in a small town in New Zealand today and saw this lovely Woodrup outside.
I didn't meet the owner but thought it looked well looked after and loved. I was very surprised to see another Woodrup, I have one and this is the only other I've ever seen apart from photos. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...c539dbd126.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...4af81c1236.jpg |

These were big in PDX, had a chain of shops and warehouse headquarters here. I had a new Seraph that got stolen and later got a new Super that was small but rode great for me once I added a 130mm 3ttt stem and Campy SP to get it up, might have been a long one. Also added Mafac 2000 brakes, and Cyclone derailleurs. It came with SunTour bar ends, "Mighty" Sugino Mighty Comp crank and MKS Unique road pedals so was all good there. It succumbed to a broken DS RDO and met its untimely end, it was my first "good" bike rode a lot and got in good shape my last couple years of HS. They were a bit heavy but well made enough. Mr. Volz helped me procure a Super frame awhile back that has a cracked seat lug/tube that will stay that way and be backstopped with a long steel SP mostly for show if it ever gets built up. No pics ATMO but I'll get some later. :innocent: |
Not very fancy but it was in the wild and I spotted it. Our local Easter parade was held despite a perfectly timed four-hour rain. Sunny before and after, I spotted this World Sport being ridden twice and parked in between. Sold quite a few of these back in the day.

Nicely upgraded and very well used Prologue. Campy Chorus cranks, Campy brakes and hubs. XT levers. :thumb:

Got into London late, woke up the next am and the first thing I saw out the door was this:

Okay here's a variation on the theme: "spotted somewhere not necessarily in the wild." This photo is from a WSJ story on the self storage tipping point and includes the owner's bike. What I took to be a C&V thing or a Euro relic turns out to be a mass-market BSO from Target. Just shows what the sight of a well-turned wheel will do to a guy and the lengths he'll go to for an answer. The article's original small photo had me thinking "a Sports with different bars and crazy paint" but I had to do some digging.

Went to the co-op today to look for some oddball parts only to learn they're closed to permit the volunteers to attend the local Ren Faire. Waste of time when there's bike stuff to do, but I get their point. Saw this locked up out front, an early DB Ascent girls' bike. Glad to see it still in use.

Came out of the Y this morning and saw this shiny red Falcon in the rack. Don't see many cottered cranks these days.

We see many notable bicycles in the wild but not many notable bike racks. Saw this one at the grocery this morning and not where you'd expect. Guy is using it on his pickup's overhead rack as a front wheel holder rack.
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...c3b044c48.jpeg Accessory rack looks like something Minoura might have made and is hose clamped to the truck's headbanger rack. Looks like it would work pretty well. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...b913d4360.jpeg |
Wish this were my photo, but is from BBC and taken outside the Louvre.

Outside the gym in Seattle:
https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...eb5f2ecce.jpeg It's not too hard to tell the model. |
Anything you put in that saddlebag would stay there.
And you wouldn't have to bring gels or gummies for energy!
