Ramsey Cycles?

We just picked up a 3speed internal hub 1950s Ramsey ladies bicycle (photos attached).

We can't find out anything about Ramsey cycles on the web--anyone know anything about this?

Thank!

Possibly a Raleigh Clone? Do you have better (larger) pictures? There are many clues that possibly would help ID the bike if we could see them, things like the type of hub, the chain ring, the way the fenders mount, etc.

Bikes: 1940s Fothergill, 1959 Allegro Special, 1963? Claud Butler Olympic Sprint, Lambert 'Clubman', 1974 Fuji "the Ace", 1976 Holdsworth 650b conversion rando bike, 1983 Trek 720 tourer, 1984 Counterpoint Opus II, 1993 Basso Gap, 2010 Downtube 8h, and...

+1. I don't know anything about Ramsey, but if it's an English three speed from the fifties there are probably some hints on it that would tell us where it was made, or by whom. For example, if it's made in Nottingham, it's probably made by Raleigh. Certain chain guard shapes are distinctive of BCC brands --Phillips, Hercules, Norman, Sun-- while others indicate Raleigh. And so on. So... give us more photos, please, and... who knows, someone may say something of use.

Oh, and a good photo of the head badge is always nice. We always like a good head shot....

I'll get some more pictures up as soon as I can.

It's a Sturmey Archer AW hub--nothing remarkable there. Cottered cranks. Chain ring doesn't have the Raleigh heron--will get a picture. Pedals stamped "made in England". Saddle is a Mesinger leather saddle, made in Connecticut.

All components are identical to a Raleigh of similar style and era (for instance, a Raleigh tourist, though the wheels are 26 x 13/8, not the 28" of the Raleigh tourist).
