Is this a bad idea...?

Passing the torch to one of my 7 year old daughters....

Who knows, maybe one day she'll build a frame for one of your kids.

Bikes: Waterford 953 RS-22, several Paramounts

Mark, that's really cool.

You realize that Frank W. Schwinn thought women made better frame brazers than men, right? For many years during the sixties and seventies, most Paramounts were brazed by one of two women - Wanda Omelian and Louise Redman.

Bikes: Mostly English - predominantly Raleighs

I would have wagered it would be Merlin, exercising his magic touch. Looks like fun.

I sure as 7734 wish someone had passed me a torch when I was young enough to make something good with it!

Start them out in the garage at an early age and they won't be 'helpless'. My eldest isn't afraid to wrench on her car, my youngest put a hardwood floor in her house. On the other hand, it's painful to watch my wife 'swing' a hammer.

Go for it! And may you teach her with enough subtlety that, in her mid teens, she doesn't decides that bicycles suck and she really wants an H2 Hummer, instead.

Terrible mistake. Who's going to be the one to paint all her frames for free once she starts up her fledgling business?
