After doing some digging I found this to be a 70's Valentino equipped Bianchi. I think it is an entry level gas-pipe. But I have some love for older bikes. If I could get some help IDing this bike I may pull the trigger if the stars line up properly. It is rough but I think I can make it shine, It looks like it will need new paint as the rust is bleeding though the paint unless it is surface rust. The paint isn't the normal Celeste green it is beige.
Anyway if someone can help Id appreciate it.

I don't know. As I was looking through past posts I had found another 70's era Bianchi that had its same crank arm in the same condition. Strange coincedence only I am sure. On the head tube the a serial number is stamped and it looks like it begins with the letter "E". Does this indicate that it was manufactured in the 50s? Surely not, huh? Or is this a geographical ID?

The head badge is the only thing that says "Bianchi" in these pictures and it looks newer and of the later stick on kinds that would be totally out of place in the 60-70s. Those bolts on the RD have Carlton all over them. Are you sure that this is a Bianchi to begin with? Any other Bianchi indications except the head badge?

My guess is that you have a late sixties or early seventies Bianchi "Sprint". This was their entry level model. I cannot boast to know too much more about the bicycle except that pre-eighties Bianchi bicycles are not all that common in North America. You will find great pleasure in resurrecting your old Italian steed and even more fun riding it.

The OP has correctly identified this bike, it is an early 70's low-end Bianchi. Best to clean it up as best you can with what's there. I would not paint it. The only thing this model has going for it is a little bit of charm in its "vintageness. " Fresh paint would erase this.

I found that that it is indeed an Bianchi Sprint, I found a 60's model on the net w/ a different headbadge, but marked as a Sprint. The soon to be former owner is calling it a Gran Premier.

Possible that the left arm is steel while the right arm is aluminum? Seems like an odd mis-match but aluminum would not develope rust like that left arm has. Maybe they are both steel and someone cleaned up the right side at some point.

I was supposed to go pick up the Bianchi tomorrow AM but the guy sold it out from under me. I'll have to keep looking.
