the evolution of vingtage

I guess I used the title to capture the attention. My title really is the evolution of steel and what it can be. Since I believe vintage=steel and this link shows what steel can be this link also = the evolution of vintage. Enjoy(I am drooling and lusting as I post)

Great looking frame, but that fork so does not belong there. It takes so much away from the rest of the bike...

I wonder if any of the 70 escaped from Waterford with a proper lugged fork. I might have to expand the Paramount Registry for these.

I am not really a fan of the fork but I'd still like it!!!

the fork is not with the scheme, and the seat stay upper ends are just plain weird.

All that critique, I am happy they did the experiment.

Maybe have Waterford make a fork with a Newvex stainless crown?

it's a bit of a miss due to the artistic lugs and very nice carbon fork. We built up a 2010 serotta colorado at the shop today and it was about 16.9 lbs without pedals.... a very respectable weight for a bike with sram force group ksyrium ES wheels. EA70 post, regular fizik arione, EC90 bars and EA90 stem... it sells for $6000 CND... TIG steel (custom drawn columbus spirit) and a matching serotta carbon fork... it's a beautiful machine.

Already done with Stan's 2007 Waterford, no?

-Kurt

P.S.: Just added a new category for the 70th Anniversary framesets in the Schwinn Paramount Registry.

That bike reminded me of one of the fellows who made a point about Campagnolo availability vs. Shimano availability in his area, back in the day:

(one old super record and one Croce. Being in WI, there were a lot of DuraAce Paramounts!)

Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.

Straight-blade fork = meh.
