Replacing bottom bracket, how do I know my spindle length?

I have a 197x Peugeot PA10 that is running on an old cottered crank. I recently came across a Sugino crank in excellent condition.

I've thought about upgrading, and I was looking at the Velo Orange French bottom brackets, which would seem to work perfectly (French thread, JIS taper). However, they offer them in various spindle lengths.

The Velo Orange website says that the spindle length depends on the crank model, but since I can't find out what this model is, how am I supposed to figure out which spindle length would work with this Sugino crank?

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

consult velobase.com to see if you can ID the crankset

Instead of a whole new bottom bracket you may be able to just use the the original cups and put in a new spindle.

There are several sizes to choose from. Not really sure which one you need.

Thanks, but unfortunately I can't seem to match it. Here is what it looks like.

I think might this would work if I could just find one since the cups are in good condition, although I'm not sure that an english tapered spindle would work well on a jis crank (then again I did get this crank for free).

You'll notice that it appears that this crank has a different bolt circle diameter for the large and the small ring. Not a good thing, as you will never find anything to fit the large BCD. But if you want to go this way, many of these inexpensive cranks used really long spindles, like 124-127mm, usually nutted as well (like the Niagara link).

And there are no "english-tapered" spindles. Pyramid's are probably all JIS.
