Dura Ace hubs. Differences?

I've just picked up a dura ace front hub. I can't seem to tell the difference between 7400 and 7700. are there any differences?

my '76 fuji track bike has an old dura ace njs track hub, I don't know the model # or year:

I'm pretty sure this was of little help.

Very slight differences. The most obvious are that the 7400 have black locknuts and darker black "Dura Ace" (the script is the same) where the 7700 have silver locknuts and a less dark "Dura Ace". The 7800 are much thicker. And the skewer nut on the 7700 does not have the loop (but skewers can change)

7700:

7400:

Bikes: Upright and Recumbent....too many to list, mostly Vintage.

Also the logo on the 7400's are engraved into the shell...I believe the later ones have the logo screened on.

Ah, I guess I have a 7400 one then. Gotta open it up. It arrived today described as lightly used. To say it spins a little rough might be an understatement.

Aren't those sealed bearings in the 7400's ?
