Raleigh brake cable

My '74 Raleigh Sport has a Sturmey-Archer 3-speed hub with coaster brake. On the top tube, are the fittings through which a brake cable would pass if I had an AW hub. I decided to run the cable from my headlight to the bottle generator along the top tube via these fittings. Of couse, the cable falls right out. I was thinking that maybe I could locate the metal housing ferrules, assuming such things were used, that were fitted onto the ends of the cable housing. I could then push these into the fittings and they could serve to keep the light cable in place. I tried my local bike shop and they gave me a couple of ferrules, but they were too big. So my questions are ...
1. Was there such a thing as these brake cable ferrules and if so, where can I get a pair?
2. Anyone have another idea as to how I can anchor this light cable other than zip-ties or duct tape?

Why not use some brake cable housings? You could fit one from the headlamp to the front braze-on. Another from the rear braze-on to the bottle generator. Pass your wire through the whole shebang and call it a day!

Some of these cable clamps may do the trick.
