Me and my 1998 GT Forte Titanium

Here is a photo I took for a dating web site I used to frequent to show I was not totally gross and ugly.

The bike is a 1998 GT Forte titanium frame set with carbon fork (Profile SC, a brand I have never heard of), Ultegra group, Mavic Cosmos wheelset, ControlTech stem, King headset, Avocet O2 seat and Richey Pro pedals. I bought the bike in 2006 - 2007 after moving to Chandler Arizona without a bike. Prior to moving I had a nice 1991 Cannondale SR600 with a Shimano 105 group that I had owned since new. I found the GT Forte advertised on craigslist for $700 and even though the frameset is a little big for me (I am 6'2" with a 34" inseam) I really liked the ride quality of the titanium frameset.

Since the time spent in the Arizona area I have riden this same titanium bike in many places across the country. Everywhere from Scottsdale and Chandler Arizona, in Olympia Washington, Reston Virginia, NW Indiana, Cheyenne Wyoming and now Youngstown Ohio. BTW, has anyone else ever riden Mill Creek Park in Youngstown Ohio? It is a great place to ride and is very underutilized. I have been told that Mill Creek Park is supposed to be the largest inner city park in the continental United States. The winter was a little hard on some of the roads but overall it is pretty nice.

Looking good DD.

I guess retirement is treating you pretty well my friend! More time for riding those beautiful classics. Love the Colnago...

And my $80 all original LeTour (even the tires were original, but I did replace those last year).

Cleaned off the road grime yesterday and said to my wife, "Hey, let's get a picture before things are back to normal!"

Been a long while since I posted here too. I decided to break out the "Vitus" shorts today for the ride on the 979.

On the way to the Farmer's Market and then lunch in Stillwater.

Stole my son's Della Santa for the day.

After the Kearsarge Klassic ride a couple of weeks ago. This year I've been keeping my spare tire around my waist instead of in the saddlebag. Have to work on getting it to fit back in the saddlebag.

Somewhere in the wilds of Montana. Yes I'm carrying too much weight around the middle. It's killing my climbing and I need to lose more of it.

On the first bump in the road to 102 miles ~ 3800' climbing on our club century Saturday.
On the 1983 Trek 620 (nee 600). Glad I had the 28*24 low on the next 10-14% climb.

Although about mile 60 I wished I had a different saddle.
