Here's my unique project. 1951 (based on the FIchtel & Sachs hubs) Durkopp.
There's a full set of fenders with integrated lighting and a matching rack as well. I wanna get started on it soon.

Heh... I had an International, but wanted the RRA frame. Plus the Campy, so swapped frames with a friend who wanted something more laid back. I could probably still get the original parts though Don't see many of these come up for sale (22.5" one like mine a couple of months ago). If I run across one I'll let you know.

Every morning I wake up and say, "Maybe today is the day that Zaphod Beeblebrox will post a thread (with lots of pictures) about his newly restored Durkopp". Every day I am disappointed.

Another chance to "recycle" my only road bike so far. I have posted before but since it likely qualifies: 1978 Sabatini "Record". Managed to hold on to it since new and still take it out a few times a year. Waiting to replace the worn Sedis with a Regina Oro which it originally came with. The last picture was taken in the fall of 1978 not long after I had bought it. I've made a few changes but the majority of components are original.

Its tough. I want to work on it so badly but its a basket case and I keep going back and forth over what to start with. Maybe I should go re-read my thread about it. I really want to get it on the road.

Wow.
Am thinking that the lowly PLX8 was a better seller but as more utilitarian models probably got ridden to death and did not get any special treatment... mine has almost no miles and appears to have spent most of it's life in storage.

I'm sure it's not the only one around, but I haven't seen another. It's a Bridgestone Kabuki Submariner. The main tubes are stainless steel and the lugs are aluminum. The rest is high tensile steel. It's still under construction. All I've done since the picture was taken is add a stainless KMC chain and a temporary front brake cable so I can test ride it. It's not a bad ride, but the moustache bars make for a long stretch for me. I may have to change those. It weighs 23 pounds.

Looks like a nice bike. I can facilitate, to some degree.

Here's my latest catch. Its a '43ish Roadmaster with lots of blackout parts and some really thin chrome. Oh, and noone else out there has 26x1.375 tires either;

Here is my mid sixties Armstrong ten speed. Note, the "safety" levers were added by the LBS around 1969-70, they were the coolest things around back then. When I cleaned her up earlier this year, I decided to leave them on for a while. I still have not seen another Armstrong 10 speed here or anywhere......

It is scary. Long ago, in a galaxy far away, I worked at Bicycle Workshop in Tenafly, NJ. I rode the high-wheeler there once. Getting up and going was surprisingly easy. Stopping and getting off was the hard part. It was like, well, you've seen me do that stunt, come to think of it.

Here is a real odd ball, we have yet to find it listed in any catalog. Pastor Bob dug it out of his magical town dump.
It is a 195? Hercules Skyliner. Single speed freewheel, 26x1-3/8" with rod brakes. It is on the short list for next to be worked on.
