newb on an old Concorde PDM
purchased a sweet old TSX bike from a local gentleman. Installed a carbon fork , threadless headset, new stem and wider bars.
Bike is full Dura Ace w/ downtube shifters. Derailleur is part #7402. Did Shimano make STI shifting in these years and if so, are they hard to find? Bar end would be even better!
When I raced in the 80's I used a suntour ratcheting bar end shifter w/ a drilled out campy Super Record rear DRLR (may be showing my age here).

Thanks in advance, Dino

More that you probably ever wanted to know about Dura-Ace compatability can be found here;

Any Dura-ace derailler can be used with STI, potential limiting factor is the freewheel or casette. If the rear cluser is 7 or 8 speed, you should be able to use 8 speed STI levers (one missing ghost shift if you have 7-speed). If you have an early 6-speed casette or freewheel then you will need to upgrade to 7 or 8 speed to use STI.

great looking bike. is the guy inside worshiping it?

I had thought that certain DuraAce RDs only worked with duraace shifters?

Nice bike and welcome to BF!
I think that 7402 RD is 8-spd so you will need a DuraAce shifter to make it index correctly. You can find 8-spd DuraAce STI levers on ebay but they won't come cheap. There are also Dura Ace bar-end shifters that are supposed to be compatible with 8 or 9 speed DuraAce RD's but I've heard some folks claim they are not truly compatible, others say they are.
Anything wrong with the old fork?

old fork is in pristine condition, as was the Cinelli Giro bar/ stem. I got the fork so I could mount the bars up higher on the threadless steerer. Back ain't what it used to be. Left it long so I could shorten as I dial in the fit.
