Help with a Bianchi serial number

I am repainting my second hand Bianchi frame and started researching my particular model. The only original components are the fork and frame, both given a decent spray paint job, pretty much everything else was new-ish.

Its an aluminum frame with a serial number of A71351.

The back dropouts are labeled Gipiemme, while the front are labeled Bianchi. There is a cast B on the backside of the front tube. No other distinguishing marks, writing, or original decals are to be found on the usual places.

I'm just trying to place the year and model. Any dissection of the serial number would be very appreciated.

Hello nate, welcome to the forums. I think there is a way to dertimine the date of manufacture of you frame from the serial number but I do not know the code. unfortunatly since your bike was stripped of paint and all original parts, there is really no way to tell what it was.

it could be one of a dozen different models. is the seatpost 27.2? if it so the most likely candidate is one of the '86 - '88 Formula One or Two frames.
