~1975 Peugeot PR10. Picked it up as a bare frame on Sunday. This shot is from yesterday. I'll be taking it on its maiden voyage tomorrow.

Thanks for the compliments guys, got her for $180 and she is mint, but do you guys think white bar tape or something else? the seat is brown leather and the sr name is brown as well so leather might look sick.. and thought?
|
Great score on that, Chad. If it were mine, I would go with white tape, since the hoods are blue. But you will gets several diffent opinions from folks with different tastes..do what puts a smile on your face.
What wheels/hubs are those? |
in the bigger full view they are some new crap, but i told the seller to keep those and give me originals instead, that got him from $400 to $200 amd then finally $180 somehow, the originals are dura ace hubs laced to araya 700c tubulars
|
unfortunately the rear wheel is pretty toast as it has a few little crackes at the eyelets :( ill probably get a new rim for it and have it rebuilt with original hub/casset but untill then its borrowing a rear

I picked up this Nishiki Olympic 12 during a brief return to the garage sale circuit. It was one of those "Are you selling any bikes?" question with the response I love to hear "Oh yeah, we forgot to put them out." Then I :D
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/m...tingray008.jpg Check out the unique headbadge. I've not seen that one before. |
Recently restored this one. I added decals since and a piece of maple wood flooring mounted flush to the rack's top. I had honjo fenders powdercoated as well but simply did not like the way it made it look. :-/

A '79 Ross Professional Gran Tour 62cm frame fell into my lap (figuratively, otherwise pretty painful.)

Still wrenching on my latest - this 1984 Ammoco tandem - my first tandem, paid £33 GB Pounds for the complete machine as pictured! I've removed the heavy "motorbike" steel rims and hub brakes, chromed bars & BMX stems and cottered cranksets. It now has Chromoly OS MTB forks (home modified headset), Vee front brake, alloy drop bars and stems, Suntour VX-GT derailleur, 7 speed HG Shimano freewheel, SR Laprade seat posts, newer saddles and has lost the chromed front reinforcement bars. Currently struggling with cranks, chains & pedals to build a drivetrain that stays in synch and gives at least a choice of double chainrings in the final drive. Buying up SR chainsets on e-bay to get enough parts to cobble it together, still not decided whether to make a cross over drive? |
Bottecchia Special

This is my most recent acquisition, a late 60's or early 70's Bottecchia Special, that set me back twenty bucks. The Special was a middle of the road model. On this one, the paint was terribly faded - it's only in the areas where the frame wasn't exposed to UV light that you can see it was originally carmine red rather than the golden-copper-ish color that you see in the "before" photo. The labels were very badly torn and hanging off the frame in several places. I decided to strip it and give the whole thing a custom paint and decal job that combined historical and more contemporary conventions. Next, I'll clean, lube, and polish the original Campy components and service the BB and HS before installing Cinelli handlebars and stem. I'm ambivalent about the Universal brake set and may replace it with some as-yet-to-be-determined different outfit. One interesting thing I discovered when I stripped the bike, by the way, is that the entire seat tube, top tube, fork, and set of stays are chromed under the paint. If the down tube had also been chromed I would have left the frame naked instead of painting it at all.

here is my latest diamond in the rough!
Gonna spend all next week working on it! |
I've lost track.
Been a while since I've sold any too and had to re-arrange the Garage to make more room.:twitchy: A 60's brigdestone that followed me home. :innocent: http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/c...picnica005.jpg |
This is my newest acquisition, gotit from Roll-Monroe-Co through the pay It Forward thread. Based on th fact that it only has one wheel, I'm guessing it's a 1954
