The Capo, completed

I bought this frame from a CR member (who I think is here too) for a fair price. I had wanted one since I saw some posted here, not because they're valuable, just kinda unique, and had missed a couple on ebay. This really should be repainted but the more I looked at it I could just imagine how beautiful it must have been when new, so I just touched it up as best I could. Of course, I didn't have the original parts, so I used period stuff I already had. Anyway, I think its pretty sweet.

Fantastic job, well done. I can't recall seeing a Capo ready to be ridden. The ones I've seen have been in poor condition with serious rust issues. I agree with your style of restoration: put it together and ride it.

Very nice. That seat tube badge is great. Never seen a fork crown like that; is it exclusive to Capo?

The lighting, the lugs, that badge, the paint deterioration, or whatever else happened here makes this the most awesome head tube I've seen.

A lot of the frame detail are unique to Capo. And as far as I know they were the only ones to use the Ambrosio adjustable stem as standard (though mine is a later 3ttt). THere are a couple of other folks here that have them, they probably know more than me. Hopefully they'll chime in.

It would've had a steel cottered crank, but I didn't get it with the frame so I "upgraded". Ah, probably didn't have the Campagnolo headset either, but I did...

Very nice! The finish is far superior to what was on my departed Capo (which was also a bit on the small side for me). But it was a lively, lightweight frame.

My 1963 Olmo De Luxe came standard with the Ambrosio adjustable stem

Wow, what a nice looking bike. I have never seen one of these posted here before although I know a few people have them. The head tube did age pretty cool.

Gorgeous. Unless it's absolutely necessary for preservation, I think it would be a sin to paint that. However, I wouldn't complain if you changed the tires.

Ha, ha. That's my motorcycle shed. We hired a friend of ours to build those doors, took months! I think they might be clear cedar. My neighbor calls it the Garage Mahal.
