I'm going to guess John Adams, but just would like to add, you need to update your heroes.

Sixty Fiver 10-30-10 10:45 PM

I am really Michael Palin.

Scooper 10-30-10 10:46 PM

Right Clicking the picture for properties, the image is "KD.jpg", so I'm guessing Karl Drais.

Thank you for coming out Michael, now please go back in; unless you are planning a new travel show, I kinda liked that last one.

Thanks guv... I really like doing the travel shows as I get to go to many exotic locations and meet all kinds of very interesting people but my passion really is fixing bicycles.

;)

You could take ANY of the pics of your Centurionelli - rotate your avatar every day - as far as I'm concerned. That's one of the finest looking bikes I've seen, and definately one of the best Flickr albums on the planet!

The pic I am using is pilfered from the net, because our BMW 2002 looks like somebody rolled a hand grenade underneath her at the moment.

Ours will look like this avatar pic someday, as soon as I sell a bike or two, so I can pic up the tranny for her in Sioux Falls.

We'll be able to put her right after this step, as the body is in fantastic condition.

My dream is for the boys to drive her before they are off to college.

If I'd stop making inane posts on the internet, I would have a fighting chance. :)

I have to throw you a thumbs-up as well. Several years ago I bought an E21, my dad decided that it was so much fun that he bought himself a 3.0CSI, and I just found out today that the recent purchase of a 2002 by a neighbor's kid was largely because of seeing my 320i in the neighborhood. They're such a hoot... when the transmissions work, that is :).

I grew up reading C&H every morning, and it only gets more profoundly relatable with age. 'Specially his dad.

+1. I stopped reading the comics when The Far Side and Calvin and Hobbes both ended.

Probably not!

Although I am on a huge Michael Franti and Spearhead kick lately.

Yes. Now that I have a Calvin aged boy with a vivid imagination, I relate to the strip on a whole different level. I especially like the ones where Calvin's dad makes up crazy explanations for stuff, because I do that with my kid, and my wife reacts just like Calvin's mom ;).

Mine is a shot of the special order Bullseye hubbed front wheel on my 1978 Masi Gran Criterium after I cleaned it up. The bike doesn't get ridden much these days but I thought it worthy for my Avatar.

I was right. It is Karl Drais. He not only invented the velocipede, he was also a martyr of democracy.

Nice one, Reynolds.

Thanks DD, too bad it's in long term storage. Posting pics of my new road bike soon tough.
