Need Campagnolo BB Help!

Howdy,
I have an 84' Tommasini that I am updating and I bought this bottom bracket for it. (Campagnolo Record 97-04) For some reason, it's too small. The threads won't screw into the BB, the diameter is smaller than the Shimano 600 one I pulled out. What is the correct one that will fit? Also, I bought this BB to fit a 2008 - 10 Speed Record Crank. I'm not sure if it would fit the BB I bought even if the BB fit the bike.

Did you buy an English-threaded bottom bracket for an Italian-threaded bottom bracket shell? Here's a link to Sheldon Brown's bottom bracket page that might shed some light on your dilemma:
